Enneagram subtype: sx8

"Sexual Eights have a strong antisocial tendency. People with this subtype are provocative people who express lust through open rebellion—through declaring in word and deed that their values differ from the norm. Along with being the most rebellious of the Eight subtypes, the Sexual Eight is, interestingly, also the most emotional. This outspoken, rebellious Eight likes to be seen as bad – or at least they don’t mind it -- and they tend not to feel any guilt over the rebellious things they do. It’s almost a matter of pride for Sexual Eights to go against the stream of convention or to disrespect rules and laws.

Both male and female Sexual Eights try to possess and control their mates. While Sexual Eights can be overtly domineering, it is an attempt to cover their insecurity about being loved and desired. Both male and female Sexual Eights see relationship as a conquest and want to hold the power in the relationship so that they don’t have to be vulnerable and dependent.

A sexual eight has a tendency toward social detachment. He is a rebellious person, much more than the other E8. He is also a more provocative person, who flaunts, who proclaims that his values are different from the norm. This occurs with all eight, but in the sexual subtype, this tendency becomes a clear detachment from the intellect."

Knows how to make useful contacts and utilize them. In political games often masterfully maneuvers between his contacts on the opposing sides. Reconciles with people just as easily as he quarrels with them. During down time likes to lament, to complain that he is not understood. In situations when he is well-informed, he will cite different quotes and facts by this demonstrating his erudition."

"SEE enjoys being the center of attention and evoking admiration in others. Presents himself as a promising person of great potential and with many open possibilities. SEE is perceptive of the balance of power. He quickly detects who is strong and who is weak, who can be pushed around and whom it’s better not to touch. Presents himself as an original, unusual personality which won’t be fitted into any frameworks. Inclined to contrast himself with others around him. Often can maintain a conversation on any topic, little by little demonstrating that he is knowledgeable on a wide variety of topics. Captures new information quickly, but mostly on the surface. Periodically he is taken by reflections and contemplations, during which time he becomes self-absorbed. At such times, it seems to him that people do not perceive him as he really is. "2F is a process attitude. A 2F notices small details of its own and others' physical state, seeks to interact with this and modify it. The easiest way to recognize the Third Logic is in an argument: they immediately lose their confidence and react quite aggressively. "VFLEs have a flippant and surprisingly vibrant 4E. This type tends to downplay their own emotional reactions, yet is unafraid of expressing themselves when needed (which may be often). They tend to look for quick emotional feedback from others to validate that their goals are worthwhile. VFLEs can become fierce, aggressive, confrontational, and problematic without realizing that these expressions are often a result of inner emotional turmoil. On the positive side, this type can manifest as jolly, goofy, fun, and merry, yet the VFLE will still not take these impressions seriously. This type is the true emotionally unaware person when it comes to their own internal states, so they benefit greatly with self-reflection or someone who can give them pinpoint accurate feedback about the meaning of their own emotions and why it is important to consider all facets of this information internally."

"For this temperament, competition is a big part of how they approach everyday life, so they may react poorly to losing. They often want to prove themselves and may go to great lengths to ensure others are aware of their abilities. When it comes to disagreements, they might believe that proving themselves right is more important than reaching the truth.

Someone who has a choleric temperament may have issues with authority, even though they themselves may want to be in charge. This can often lead to power struggles and other forms of conflict that might affect their career, relationships, or social life."

Enneagram subtype: sx9

"When inertia affects the sexual instinct, the person invests his energy in the intimate relationship of two and, in the couple or friendship, he gets involved in a confused way, just as he lived with his parents, in which he allows himself to feel his existence only through the other, to whose desires and needs it attends, without differentiating the I from the you. In short, he „uses“ the existence of the other to be able to carry out his own. He is a devoted but drugged lover; he converges and identifies himself globally with the loved one in order to feel loved.

The sexual instinct loses its instinctive character and becomes an ability to perceive the need of the other. One's own pleasure can be experienced if it is at the service of the loved person's pleasure, with a feeling of abnegation where the self has no space. The loss of the connection with his deep self is compensated by looking out. The other becomes the reference, the compass to detect needs or thoughts. The mechanism by which sexual E9 becomes indifferent, apathetic, and drugged is the interruption of instinctual sensation before it is even noticed. This interruption results in anesthesia and obtundation. Paradoxically, it is the very fact of feeling that deactivates feeling.

This process carries with it a sense of confusion and therefore inappropriateness, which adds a further degree of complexity to the sexual E9's understanding of what he himself feels. Only when he reaches exasperation (after repeated denials of his instinctual drive) does he decide it is time to give space to his need and allow himself to be determined or even imposing to satisfy it."

Socionic type: SEI , each function explained

"The Unhealthy SEI (Sensory-Ethical Introvert), often called the Mediator or Dumas, is a tragic paradox: a creature of comfort who can find comfort nowhere. In a state of distress, the SEI’s natural warmth curdles into clinginess, and their aesthetic appreciation devolves into hedonistic gluttony. While the healthy SEI is the soothing balm of the socion, the unhealthy SEI is a vortex of passive-aggression and sensory overload.

Introverted Sensing (Si). In a healthy state, Si curates a peaceful, predictable internal environment. Under stress, this curation becomes a desperate hoarding of sensations. The unhealthy SEI becomes a slave to physical comfort, yet finds no pleasure in it. They may overeat, oversleep, or zone out for hours in front of mindless media, not to relax, but to numb an internal chaos they cannot articulate. Their home, once a sanctuary, becomes a cluttered fortress. "With the social instinct last in the stacking, there can be an on/off quality when it comes to relating and these Nines are often somewhat moodier than the other subtypes. As with the self-pres/sexual, this subtype might not engage socially with the same smoothness as other subtypes of Nine. They seem to go towards others in a staccato fashion – they connect in bursts, then withdraw.

When it comes to intimate relationships, this subtype can be needy. The merging of the Nine combines with the intensity of the sexual instinct to create a subtype that will always be in danger of losing themselves in a relationship. Their boundaries for themselves and their partner can become blurred which can lead to conflicts. This subtype might have a hard time judging clearly the degree to which they have merged."

Psychosophy type: FELV

"An unhealthy FELV struggles with severe indecision, hypochondria regarding their physical needs, over-reliance on others for direction, and crippling intellectual self-doubt."

"(1F-4) Result 1F Result-1F is usually indifferent to their appearance and their environnment. They are too lazy to maintain order, take care of their body, or cook well. Thus, they either learn to minimize their needs, or rely on the services of others (for example by ordering take-out food).

Result-1F does not enjoy being active, playing sports, or moving around. A passive lifestyle is much more suitable for them.

Thus they can be mistaken for 4F. But 4F easily adapts to others' habits and tastes, while result-1F still wants what it wants. They get what they desire, just not in energy-intensive ways, and covering too much ground. But if you get in the way of result-1F's habits and tastes, they will do everything they can to push back and stop this."

"Passive-2E is not characterized by intense emotional self-expression, rather their feelings are soft and pleasant for the sake of others.

If they feel dislike or indifference toward someone else (which happens often, since many desire communication with passive-2E), they try not to demonstrate this directly. In the usual state, 4V is a cute, relaxed person who allows others to be themselves in his company. He can take on leadership, but only if it is “assigned” to him by others, and hardly by his own will, because he dislikes the effort and responsibility. It is believed that Fourth Volitions have no ambitions – this is not true. Less impulsive as they’re caught up on not making a mistake, thinks thoroughly before acting but sometimes will hesitate too much and be too passive. Feel left out because of their differences and would like to “blend in” lest their differences cause problems sometimes."

"As a result of his delayed and sometimes dull response, a phlegmatic-melancholic will be slower to speak out, tempted to procrastinate, and reticent. They may appear – or believe themselves -- at times to be “lazy.” At times when the melancholic aspect dominates, he will have plenty of time in which mull over in his mind what his response should have been.
