My very dear friend, Ziyad, is raising funds for evacuation expenses. He cares for his 6 children and his mother, in Gaza City. They are hoping to leave Gaza for Cairo as soon as possible if the proposed ceasefire is implemented.
To secure safety for all 8 members of his family, he is hoping to collect $3,500. That will cover travel, food and other needs, and securing housing once in Cairo. That's all! $3,500 for 8 people! That's $440 per person, to get them out of Gaza.
This amount is in addition to the $1,500 he has already withdrawn for survival funds, from his Chuffed fundraiser.

I am Fathi Alhaj from Gaza, Palestine, a sales account manager and father of two beautiful kids, Yamen and Boody. I am the sole provider for my elderly parents, wife, and children. We have lost my fatherβs house, our home, my car, and my job, and weβve been displaced for hundreds of days until now during the genocide in Gaza.
In September 2024, after a year of genocide, we also lost our savings, which led us to create this campaign. Ana, who organized my GoFundMe, is my best friend her wonderful family hosted me in Seattle in 2013 when I was representing Palestine in the US during the MEPI program.
Unexpectedly, after October 7th, my life turned upside down. We were forced to become seekers of life amidst all the death, destruction, and darkness in Gaza. We lost everythingβour beautiful and successful life, our dreams, and everything we had πππππ¨βπ©βπ§βπ§
This campaign has helped us survive until now, meeting our basic needs for food, water, medicine for my elderly parents, and rent for our apartment in our 6th shelter. Our primary goal is to rebuild our lives when we are able to evacuate π€π€π€π

This is my guy, Zeyad. He's living in north Gaza with his kids, including Dima and Jana pictured above with him. His 13 year old daughter, Islam, passed away two months ago (near the beginning of the blockade) from kidney failure, and his wife is alone caring for her ill mother in Egypt. All the while, two of his other kids are in online uni classes, working hard to secure a stable future.
I talk to him every day and he's a genuinely kind man. He is staying strong through daily atrocities. I never anticipated befriending a 47 year old dude but here he is, my lifelong friend. He just needs more friends to offer support.
If anyone reads this, please consider sharing or donating to his fundraiser. He currently has only $400/500 of his initial goal, and will eventually need much more while this blockade continues.

By now, you all must have seen the news that Gaza had officially run out of food, as one of the main aid suppliers in Gaza, World Food Program, had announced that their stock has been completely depleted, leaving just a few days for community kitchens to function.
This comes after more than 50 days (and counting) of Israel's complete closure of the borders, preventing food and medicine, among other life essentials, from entering Gaza. There are children crying out of hunger with trucks loaded with over 100,000 tons of food mere minutes away from them, which Israel continues to prevent from entering besieged Gaza.
This also comes after Israel had deliberately destroyed swaths of farmlands in Gaza, specifically targeting them with bombs and chemical weapons that destroy the chance of growing crops. Israel also made sure bakeries are destroyed as well as water sources.
Diabolical is an understatement when it comes to the Zionist entity.
There are still things you can do. On top of raising awareness and protesting when possible, independent organisations like APN are working directly with farmers in Gaza to rehabilitate the agricultural sector and restore local food systems to combat famine, counter the blockade and build food sovereignty. You can donate to their Revive Gaza's Farmlands initiative here.
Additionally, keep in mind that this means whatever food supplies remain available in Gaza now costs astronomical amounts of money, so keep sharing and donating to individual fundraising campaigns. Gazafunds is a good source if you're not sure where to start. Remember that your donations and shares are often the only source of hope for these families.
