two types of dinasours 🦖
i was thinking about the dinasours in twd and what could they possibly mean. i think there are two types of dinasours in the show. let's separate the two from each other by calling them dinasour juice and dinasour statue.
dinasour juice -> a dinasour helping you survive
oil or petroleum we've been using for a long time is the result of decaying organic materials buried on earth, and dinasours were believed to be the main source for a long time even tough it was not true.
in one of the episodes in season 4 of twd, daryl and the others were looking for medicine because of the flu, and they showed this image a lot:
diesel is, in the simplest way, distilled from petroleum a.k.a dinasour juice. it's literally made from death. it's used in diesel engines and emits high levels of CO2. it's also heavy, survavilist and hard to burn. diesel is just like pookie.
dinasour statue -> a dinasour in a museum
this dinasour is so precious that people have put it in a museum. it is a part of history, a memory that people hold onto. we cannot touch it, burn it or do anything with it. it is forbidden. this dinasour is beth or hope in other words. you would not want to burn it like diesel, you'd want to preserve it. that's how people live, they hold onto hope.
i got the idea from ginny's dinasour, she was trying to hold onto something pure and soft in a cruel world.
p.s. dinasours are also accepted as the ancestors of birds, just saying.
p.s. before beth, daryl needed diesel. after beth, especially in the spin-off, he has started to search for ethanol. i'm going to write about this difference later.

“Don’t you know smoking is bad for you, Greene?”
everybody after the prison falls: every day is a battle, despairing that they'll never see their loved ones again, fighting off hostile enemies at every turn, just generally having a shit ass time.
daryl and beth:

vampires, wolves and beth greene
first, beth was a wolf. then, we started to saw bats, garlic and vampires.
isabelle gave daryl this herbal medicine to heal his infected arm.
when you combine everything, you get dracula my friends. the og shapeshifter. he can turn into a bat, a wolf, a fog or mist.
"count dracula is depicted as the 'king vampire', and can control other vampires. to punish mina and the party for their efforts against him, dracula bites her on at least three occasions. he also forces her to drink his blood; this act curses her with the effects of vampirism and gives him a telepathic link to her thoughts. hypnotism only works before dawn. van helsing refers to the act of drinking blood by both the vampire and the victim 'the vampire's baptism of blood' ".
i'm not well-versed enough to write about "blood is the life." and dracula, but i've found a website that explains everything thoroughly:
Explore the history of blood transfusions from the 17th to 19th centuries and their connection to women, power, and Dracula in this analysis
daryl was the one who gave his blxxd to judith. not carol, not another woman but a man. i think it's an important piece of information.
not in the book but in francis ford coppola's dracula, jonathan harker's wife mina is also elisabeta, dracula's past life lover. mina is the reincarnation of elisabeta.
jonathan harker???
the book and coppola's movie are a little bit different from each other. the movie has a somewhat happy ending and mina actually loves vlad. he is also more humane than the book dracul.
we also need to talk about werewolves in folklore. in the last decade or so, they've been turned into sex symbols but werewolves are actually cursed. both vampires and werewolves are damned, they're liminal creatures. they're neither here nor there. that's why i like that owen and the rest of the wolves are similar to the original ones. everything is overtly sexualized these days. bring back the original freaks, please.
i should've also added that i don't think beth is symbolized as dracula in the beginning. beth is christ, dracula is anti-christ. he bites people to seize their mind. hypnotized people turn into lambs and offer their blood to dracula. crm, or the horrors of a world filled with the undead may be dracula. this also makes daryl a follower of christ, he isn't a slave to some anti-christ figure. he doesn't take life, he gives it.
Before the Victorian Era of the nineteenth century, faith in Christ was pretty much a necessity in Europe. But Christianity underwent its ch

The Omaha Question (TD)
Another YouTube video! This video includes everything here plus a whole bunch of signature Gala-style ramblings on the topic, which is the TWDU setting of OMAHA ^_^ I've also included the entire post here so you can follow along or just read if you'd like. As usual I am not a pro, so the video is not perfect but I think it gets the job done lol.
unrelentlessly upset (bis)
As I have always made clear, I love Beth with all my soul. Daryl too ... but Beth is a character that resonates deeply with me. I am that girl, young and fearful, often overlooked, that seems not up to the task. I am that girl that some people may consider a 'dead weight'. Beth Greene reminds me that we can always grow and improve ourselves, without losing our vulnerability ...
I did not have a good week, I do not have a decent self-esteem, I'm not entirely happy with this drawing, and every time I remember that my special character was taken out of the plot in such a ... stupid and lazy way I feel bad. But I also think about her, this song and this scene and I feel better. Let's fight folks, both the walkers and the boring routine of real life.
This is me chanelling greene-energy, and also redrawing this iconic scene with my tablet to practice. Hope you like it!
jesus!
i was thinking about beth's necklace the other day
can it be a reference to the sacred heart?
if the shoe fits, i'd say why not?
We should burn it down
''We can light a match And burn them down
Let me hold your hand And dance 'round and 'round the flames In front of us
Dust

(i was rewatching ''still'' aka best episode ever made. i´m still not over it)

bitch beth (respectfully) 🐺
both genet and daryl (shame on you, pookie) called beth a bitch before. genet called mona lisa a bitch, but it was the same thing. i got curious and looked the word up.
in the beginning, bitch was not a derogatory word. it actually meant female dog (or wolf, fox etc.)
she-wolf also meant prostitute in the past, i'm going to tie this back to something else in another post. stay tuned. 🐥
we saw this on the opening credits of the france arc. i gathered everything i found:
-> a modified renaissance anatomical sketch — reminiscent of vesalius
-> french text written in red ink reads things like:
“contrôlez la mort!” → control death!
“si on sait trancher le cœur, ça va se diffuser plus vite!” → if we know how to cut the heart, it will spread faster!
“uber!” → likely shorthand for supérieur (superior) or übermensch — nietzschean “superhuman.”
“86 bpm,” “CO₂ + O₂,” and energy equations (E = 3.950 kilojoules) — signs of bioenergetic study.
the heart and arterial system are emphasized, implying viral transmission through blood and oxygen exchange.
if you ask my opinion, and i know i'm not alone in this, someone was trying to overcome death, find immortality. instead, they got zombies, something that they can neither control nor kill like the creature in frankenstein.
She´s looking at him ofc
A very quick, very wild, very passionate little drawing.
short 'n sweet (thoughts) pt.4
i wrote something about codron being a mercurian symbol, and he probably is because we know that he's going to come back for the last season. we saw him last inside a tunnel, a gate between the world of the living and the dead. (i wrote this before the seventh episode, but you got what i meant.)
hermes is mercury in the odyssey, and it gets better:
bringer of good luck?
kitchens are huge in beth and daryl's story. their last happy moment was in a kitchen. carol told before that she cannot imagine daryl in a kitchen*. lastly, i was watching coda again. while rick was assigning roles to everyone, he gave the kitchen in grady to daryl. i have a really funny explanation:
beth means house. daryl is beth's (house/home) heart (kitchen). i probably laughed for an hour after realizing this. i also noticed something while rewatching dds1:
brian is the governor, what's he doing in beth's heart? she replaced andrea, will we watch prison arc 2.0 in the future? 👀
i looked for a julian who's been deemed as important in england's history and found this woman:
she was an anchroess.
julian in dds3 was a hermit in a way. as far as he knew, he was the last englishman in england.
*if kitchen symbolizes beth's heart, is carol really unaware of daryl and beth's connection? or just thinks that it was a one-sided thing? i'm honestly curious about her take in all this.
aliens & beth greene
@atrumreginablue wrote here about some alien and space related emojis emily used on a post. they can mean anything or nothing, but maybe they were about these:
issue 75 is the one where michonne hits rick on the head at alexandria. there's a non-canon ending: rick wakes up after three weeks* and learns about the alien invasion. rick grimes 2000 is about what’s after. i think there are five issues, but the important thing is that in rick grimes 2000, no one dies until they’re brain-dead. for example, lori is alive. rick gets cut in half, but andrea saves him with an alien technology called nanites.
i thought maybe those emojis were emily’s way of saying, “she’s alive!!!!” lol
there's also another story with "an alien":
the alien in this story is probably about being a foreigner or a stranger in general. jeffrey is an american in spain, a country where he’s an “alien” to everything. daryl and carol are also aliens right now.
in addition to aaalll this, do you remember the tv show daryl watched with a bunch of kids in france?
an alien and his human lover 🙄 i read that they chose this to show daryl's situation, alone and foreign to the land. makes sense but if you haven't watched the show before, you cannot possibly know that was the context. suspicious. 🕵♀️🌚

My Bethyl heart just skipped a beat.. (x)
i love that how we, as a collective, do not care being seen like lunatics and still openly root for these two lol
