All right, I can't keep quiet about this.
I'm now seeing people complaining about the direction that "The Bad Batch" has gone/is going and that they're disappointed, especially with the season being 3 episodes away from being over...do y'all not realize that we're only in season ONE of the show?? I know a second season hasn't been confirmed yet, but one, it probably won't be confirmed until closer to the end or at the very end of the season. That usually happens with a lot of shows, and two, it's animated predecessors, "Clone Wars" and "Rebels", all had multiple seasons so I see no reason why "Bad Batch" won't either.
Besides, have we all forgotten the very first season of "Clone Wars"? I loved that show, but that first season was rough! There wasn't as much development for a lot of characters, but that came with the later seasons! I haven't watched the first season of "Rebels", but I was told by my brother who has that it was the same way: even though he liked the show, it had an iffy start.
But guess what? Both shows got better as the seasons kept going!!
The same can more than likely be said for "Bad Batch"!
I'm tired of the need people have for instant gratification with this show! Every character has to have major development right away or it's terrible. The plot has to be rushed along and completed within a couple of episodes or "there's no plot"/"it's moving too slow". It can't veer from what's perceived as the main storyline, otherwise it's all "filler".
Seriously, y'all, it's a great show and I'm not saying that as just a casual viewer. I'm a lifelong Star Wars fan. I've learned not to have expectations and that's what helps me enjoy a lot of things, especially in the Star Wars fandom. I'm not saying "Bad Batch" is perfect, but hell, it's definitely not as bad as the vocal minority tries to claim it is. It's overall been well-received and I would like for it to continue, which it most likely will.
I cannot emphasize this enough:
We'll most likely get another season; multiple, if we're lucky, and things will progress even more. A lot of shows, you can't judge by its first season. What show has ever had fully developed characters or plotlines by the end of season one? None! Plus, how many times have you recommended a show to someone and you said, "Once you get past the first season, it gets good"? Or someone said that to you? The same thing applies here with "Bad Batch"! While I personally have loved this first season and have no major qualms with it, I'll bet it's only bound to get better if when it continues.
Just please, for the love of all that's good, be freaking patient and just enjoy the show. Quit trying to ruin things for those of us who love it just the way it is. I'm begging at this point.
Let the story be told at the pace the creators are choosing to go with. Dave Filoni knows what he's doing. It's his story, not ours. I always keep that in mind. The rest of you should, too.
