I know it sounds cruel, until you realise that Undyne (litteraly the least discreet person in town) has been missing for 2 days straight, yet no one gives a damn! Even Toriel who called her during the night of chapter 2 doesn’t say anything about it (no dialogue about her at all). The only one who seem to remember her existence are the people who like her the most (Alphys and Blooky).

(Made me think of Noelle saying thay the townsfolk are too focused on their own stuff to realize how interesting Kris is, aka how things change around them and they don’t notice/care)

Man, this town sucks

i think hometown has a general attitude of "act like nothing is wrong, and nothing will be wrong". dess is long gone, it's best to just move on and not bring her up, because it's such a painful memory. after all, they all saw what happened to asgore because he couldnt let it go. and the police were mostly just for show anyway, maybe they even thought of undyne as something of a nuisance. and kris... kris has always been weird and offputting. the kind of kid you expect to end up either dead or in state custody by their 20s. you can reach out and offer a hand, but only because you know theyre not going to take it. when theyre gone you can still say you tried.
