Karaâs fingers interlaced the chain link fence that blocked the alley from the highway and she watched as Connor and the girl crossed and she let out a brief sign of shock as Connor got hit by the mirror of the car. She didnât want him to die, her mission was to get him back alive and she couldnât fail Amanda again, she wouldnât allow it, but with him still alive she could play cat and mouse with him all day but eventually sheâd get what she wanted.
She stayed by the fence until they made it to the other side of the highway safely and started heading for someplace she didnât have a clue. She didnât know if they had a plan of where to go or if they were just running. She really just hoped that they were just running because it would be easier to find them but if they were going someplace specific then they could be hidden by someone helping them which would be harder on her. When they reached the other side she saw Connor look back at her one final time. âConnor, this has to end sometime!â She shouted, not having an idea if he could even hear her.
After Connor got away both her and Hank went back to the police department to study over what they knew about the androids and Deviancy in general. Trying to get Connor captured or cornered somehow.
The strike of the wing mirror had him slightly disoriented but as they managed to cross the next half of the road without incident, It was one of those times he was thankful for the fact he didnât feel the pain that impact would have generated. Â Once he and Alice were over the other barrier he glanced back at Kara once more, he made no reply. Â He didnât need to but he was sure of the fact she was not going to let him go. Â Connor only wanted for Alice to be safe, he still hadnât decided what to do, could he give her to a care home? Â Heâd killed her father to protect her, maybe he could find her mother. Â These were the logical things to do to keep her out of danger but he hated the thought of being separated from the girl. Â
Theyâd disappeared from the highway and slipped away from the scene, it was too risky to try and get to the train station now. Â The only option was to go on foot. Â It wouldnât be very likely that theyâd reach their destination before nightfall. Â
Predictably they didnât cover as much distance as they would have if theyâd been able to take the train. Â Alice was exhausted and Connor was now carrying her, she needed somewhere to sleep, as much as he could keep going, she needed proper rest. Â The AX800 found an abandoned block of apartments near the Urban Farms. Â It was dark by the time heâd entered an apartment up a few flights up stairs. Â Near the top of the building, hopefully if anyone came through the building stye wouldnât bother searching the upper floors. Â Heâd found an upturned mattress in what used to be a bedroom and tipped it back the right way. Â Pigeons had began to nest in the building making it unhygienic, he hoped that even though the birds were nesting in the main room that this bedroom wouldnât make Alice ill. Â They stayed the night there and tomorrow they could continue their journey.
Kara sat patiently at the desk across from Hankâs. There werenât any other leads for any cases that they had and her failed chase with Connor just kept playing over and over in her mind. She felt a bit bad for him, he was probably just trying to protect the girl but he was still a deviant and she had a job to capture all the deviants and send them back to Cyberlife.
The next day happened to be going slow up until they got a report that there was some suspicious activity near the urban farms. Fearing that they might lose their suspect they immediately set out and found the apartment building in question. She knew they werenât told a room besides it was on one of the two upper floors. After setting two of the android officers on the lower hallway Hank and her went to the top floor to clear it, soon only finding one door that was locked she looked over at Hank before knocking roughly on the door. âOpen up! Detroit Police!â She called outÂ
