I finally understand. I have a fear of intimacy. I thought I had gotten over it because I’ve had sex and been close with people. But I haven’t. A fear of intimacy means a fear of being completely close to someone in every way, completely vulnerable. I have never done that. I keep anyone I sleep with or have a romantic relationship with emotionally distant. I keep anyone I am emotionally close to and dependent on sexually distant. I’m always the girl with a really close guy best friend that I don’t date, and an asshole guy I’m sleeping with that I don’t connect with. I get it now that fear of intimacy is about more than just touching.
