Hello Anon! I know exactly how you feel! I keep re-reading the same classics on a loop and I sure everyone must be getting a bit bored of me reccing the same fics over and over again. Luckily we were blessed with some amazing new fics from the talented writers in this fandom this year, so your ask has given me a great excuse to rec some of my favourite fics of the last 12 months.  In no particular order….

Spellbound by @ladymacbethsspot This fic has been running for much longer than 12 months but it ended this year.  The whole fic is a tour de force, the last few chapters are incredibly gripping and the ending is as satisfying as you could possibly wish. 

Apocrypha by @francisthegreat The events of Annihilation from Erwin’s POV.  It’s as devastating as you can imagine. 

CODA by @tidal-sehnsucht A really unique and atmospheric fic, one of my favourite fics of the year. 

Sync by @35grams and @elivra-fanfiction Another of my fics of the year.  An original scifi AU that’s as touching as it’s inventive. I’ve read it three times in the last month. 

Die Shitting, Asshole by @shadowgale96 Short, sweet, and hilarious. 

After by @zorthania A twitfic that turned into something beautiful, moving and heartwarming. 

Two Slow Dancers by @galpalpetraral This one utterly broke me.

Levi Hates Drinking by @2dsheep And so did this one.

Sleeping With The Enemy @melodyoftheriver Love the setting of this one, and it’s seriously hot. 

I’ll Carry You by @i-heart-danchou Beautiful and heartbreaking. 

Your Song by @ellabesmirched I nearly lost my shit on a plane the first time I read this.  It’s brilliant.  Bertolt is a revelation. 

The Waiting Room by @cherryamber A beautiful and original reincarnation AU.

For A Loop by @ellabesmirched Sweet and awkward teenage Eruris.
