Updates
Things have been crazy and stressful and wild these past few months!
I got a new job. I lost an old job. I stressed for months about my NYAA application. I worked almost every day in the studio the two weeks before the deadline to complete my paintings and it paid off. I got into the Academy! Yeah, I have to let this one sink in. Even though I keep getting documents sent to me from the school, papers I need to fill, I still feel like it's not really real.
Does that mean that I have to rename my blog? It is no longer 30 months, but more like 6!
I've got the chance to see a bunch of art both in Montreal and Toronto. Nuit Blanche was great, tiresome but great.
These paper works were awesome!
My latest trip to Toronto made me see a bunch of beautiful paintings by the Group of 7 and stumble upon a Peter Doig.
I've been brainstorming on my funding strategies, hoping that the Quebec government recognizes the Academy and gives me another student loan.
A big spring cleaning is underway, I found prints I have done while still at Concordia. It is nice to be satisfied with old work. I did some very interesting intaglio experimentations on glacine paper and I kept all the plates because I am hoarder responsible artist!
There is so much left to be done, so stay tuned for sales and commissions and funding campaigns.
And lucky for us, the weather is getting better!
