They love the persona: the aegyo, the sexy stage, the bubbly songs, the submissiveness of female idols.

However, when these girls; these women (because I feel like some of them aren't even seen as that) are vocal about feminism, inequality, self love, or take any control over their lives; they are demonized in an instant. If someone leaked pictures of them that were supposed to be private, they are slut shamed, attention whores, ugly, or not that talented to begin with.

And this isn't restricted to kpop. This isn't restricted to Korea itself. But this is a factor, one of many, that messes with someone's mental state. Which could lead to things like suicide.

This quick "shoot down idols for being slightly flawed or human" is prevalent to both genders. We've lost idols from both genders. But there will ALWAYS be a different standard for women because they are supposed to be the pure innocent person that fits the societal gaze.

I’m not well spoken and my English is not perfect, but I’m speaking from the heart. When prices for our public transport raised once more people started to “evade”. This became a massive action, and police was sent to close the entrance of the subways and answer as they would see fit. But this is not about the subway fare, we’ve been enduring a lot of bs, and we’ve been silent this whole time. We don’t get paid enough to pay for our health, for our education, our public transport, for our water (our water is privately owned!!!) and electricity. And it seems it’s never expensive enough. So this is not just about the damn subway fare. Our president declared state of emergency, then set on a curfew, released the military to the streets and now he says “WE ARE AT WAR”. We’ve caught Police burning subway stations, buses, and causing property damage in order to blame it on us. tv is staging situations. We’ve seen police using drugs, beating up kids, killing dogs, shooting, and running over people. I can hear a f*cking helicopter and the firefighters as I type this.

Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san is a 2014 television yuri anime based on the four-panel manga of the same name by Kuzushiro.

The series follows Yachiyo Inugami, a dog-like girl who loves dogs, and Suzu Nekoyama, a cat-like girl who adores dogs. The two are introduced by their mutual friend Aki and instantly become infatuated with the other’s animal-like traits. The humorous short episodes are five minutes in length, usually following Inugami’s wild antics, contrasted by Nekoyama’s laziness and Aki’s straight man role reacting to them. The girls are joined by other classmates with animal-like traits, like Nezu, who loves cheese.

The manga has been serialized in Comic Yuri Hime since 2011. Six volumes have been published, but the series is not licensed in English.
