OUR CARNAL FLESH - Update log #1!
Hello everyone! Earlier this month I announced that myself and @r18-cloud would be making our very own murdersim, Our Carnal Flesh, and today I finally have some updates for you all on my portion of the work!
After a lot of writing and drafts, I’ve finally managed to create a story that I will be following for Cassidy’s route! I have a pretty detailed plot map set out for coding purposes, but I also have a large amount of notes and writing with descriptions, dialogue I want to use, what I want to include, etc. Closer to the release date of Our Carnal Flesh, both Adrian and I will be posting promo pics and a list of things you can all expect to see in our individual routes.
Some of the things I’m most excited to bring into Cassidy’s route are his use of branding, intermingling his hobbies with how he hurts MC and, my personal favourite, a chase scene!
I have finally been able to move onto creating placeholders for Cassidy! This includes backgrounds and very basic sprites so I can get a better idea of what I’m doing during the coding stages.
As for CGs, I’m still going through Cassidy’s route and seeing which events would be the best to include a detailed drawing. I have a couple of strong ideas mixed with a few weak ones but I think it will be a very fun challenge for myself as an artist to create such intricate illustrations! Especially with backgrounds, perspective and other technicalities in mind.
I’m actually a complete beginner at coding so this is the part I’m most worried about- I have made a start, thanks to Fish’s Renpy lessons, and I think I’m getting the hang of it! I will be thoroughly testing the game myself and I’m debating letting others test it through a possible beta version, so hopefully by the time the game is released it will be bug free and an enjoyable experience for everyone.

These are the last two steps in the process so they won’t be finished for a long time! Both Adrian and I have a couple of misc. pieces of music and art that we’re playing around with but for now there is no work regarding this section.
Some extra notes that I want to add are about price and regarding Cassidy himself! Our Carnal Flesh will be free to play on itch.io when it is released and there are no current plans on adding any price tags to anything that we’re releasing. About Cassidy, he is a very strange character and doesn’t have a lot of survival endings due to the way he views his victims! I hope that it’s okay with anyone who plays OCF that he isn’t exactly a lover, but if any of you have any questions my ask box is open! ^_^
