excuse my using danish kroner but its what i use so whatever
germany has some weird complicated legislation going right now that for a bunch of reasons financially incentivices businesses to buy electric vans, use them for 1-2 years, and then get rid of them again - wtf germany. anyway so, i get a used van for, say, 110k dkk on a lease where i just have to pay 40k upfront, and then 2.5k per month. electric car imports to dk have a 0% registration/import fee, so no worries there. on a (low guesstimate) income of about 12k dkk per month, living with my parents for free like a leech, and having the van standing without plates for a while, i can then give myself a budget of 9k dkk per month for the conversion period - thats plenty to build for, especially since i plan on scavenging for recyclable materials, sth ive gotten pretty good at lately.
i calculated the periodic fees for an electric van and it came out to about 11k per year. BUT. once i've gotten enough set up in the van that it meets the motor registry's definition of an autocamper (2 beds or conversion beds, kitchen, bathroom facilities) the periodic fees drop to 460dkk/anno. this is essentially the vanlife equivalent of my rent. i would be paying 39dkk, or 6 entire american dollars, in rent per month.
weeell, its not that sunny, cause there'd still be charging, water/shore power, insurances, maintenance, and at least until i'd paid it off, the lease. but goddamn dude. 39dkk rent lmfaooo
