1st Class SOLDIER Zack Fair

       “I’m kind of curious what distraction you have in mind.” Cloud said with a smile. “You’re already pretty distracting just being you.” 

“I was thinking maybe going for a drive. I do have my bike still. And I know I can be distracting but you’re not much better. I can always get lost in your eyes especially.” Zack chuckled as he realized how cheesy that was

         “Zack…” Cloud touched his shoulder. “You do help.” His eyes grew fierce. “I was in a coma for a year. Does that mean I should have died? I’ve failed more fights than I’ve won, but you never let me believe I’m useless.”

          Cloud grabbed his friend’s jaw. “I know you’re usually the hero. You’re used to the purpose and rush that comes with that, but everyone needs help sometimes. Everyone stumbles. That doesn’t invalidate who you are or what you’ve done, or what you can do in the future.” 

          He tilted his head, trying to meet zack’s eyes. “I need you. You’re what keeps me going all the time. The fact that you’ll be atmy side is all I need to keep myself from giving up, even when things look their worst. Just you having my back is everything to me.” 

         He smiled for him, even if it was a small and very shy smile. “I know you’re going through a hard time, and I don’t expect that I can entirely fix it with anything I say but…” He shrugged, “I will take any opportunity to tell you how much you mean to me. You’re my hero, Zack. That hasn’t changed.” 

Upon hearing the question from the blonde, Zack spoke up. “Of course not! I could never let you feel useless...” When Cloud grabbed his jaw however, Zack refused to look Cloud in the eyes. He didn’t want to seem so weak.

“It’s just...” The raven sighed. “Being in SOLDIER instilled a need to never show weakness...since if an enemy saw it. They would not hesitate to use that weakness against you. It’s easier to play the fearless hero, then it is to acknowledge your weaknesses...” Zack admitted to the other

“I know I can’t expect your words to fix it. But... even just having you here with me when I stumble like this helps so much more than you know Cloud. I need you here with me. Just like you need me.” Zack gave Cloud the tiniest of smiles.

The lion churrs softly at the pats, tail flicking a moment before it starts to pad ahead a little upon hearing that a rest stop was close by now.

A small nod is given in agreement as Adam looks forward a moment to catch sight of the mentioned lighthouse just a short ways away by this point. “We’ll find him, as well as the answers you need soon, I promise you that.” The angel assures as dark blue eyes return to Zack before he leans in to leave another kiss this time just on the corner of the other’s lips. “You’re right though, it would probably be a good idea to rest a bit…if that’s really what you want to do.” He adds, very clearly teasing…for the most part anyway.

Zack smiles at the other’s kiss. He was so glad to be back with his fiancé. Having Adam with him gave Zack the hope that he could find out exactly what had happened back in Nibelheim. Upon hearing Adam’s teasing words, Zack just chuckled to himself a bit.

“I’m glad you agree. There might be time for something a bit more than just resting. We’ll see how the cards play out.” Zack said with a smirk and then planted a kiss against his fiancé’s cheek. “C’mon. We’ll be there shortly.”

@sparkadream​ asked:  An arm wraps around Zack’s waist pulling him close before Adam leans in to place a kiss upon his fiance’s lips. He lingers there for a long while before finally moving away, if only for the moment in order to say. “Happy birthday my beautiful wolf. Forgive me for not having a proper gift this time around.” He notes with a couple more kisses following before he moves a bit so his lips lightly brushed against Zack’s neck. “But I do have some special plans for tonight at least~"

Birthday Asks || No longer accepting

Zack chuckled as he kissed back, smiling up at his fiance once the two of them break apart. “Thanks Adam, and don’t worry about it. As long as I have you, I got all I will ever need.” He smiled again upon feeling Adam’s lips against his neck. 

“Oh do you now? I’m curious to what those are.”

Adam wanted to point out that it actually had nothing to do with the fact he was an angel. But…it was probably easier for the both of them to let Zack believe that as opposed to telling him the real reason. He wasn’t even sure he could bring himself to admitting to that reason anyway.

Even at the yell as well as the sound of the sword slashing against the tree didn’t turn Adam’s gaze back towards the other. So much pain…and it was all because of him. Damn it all, this was never something he’d ever have wanted to put Zack through, which even that thought alone was once again another strange one. But it was too late to change things now.

It was only from the corner of his eye did Adam risk taking even a glance over to the prince for a moment. “Who can say really why people do what they do or why things are as they are.” That’s not to say he didn’t agree that things should change but, somehow he highly doubted the likelyhood of it actually happening any time soon. “I’m…sorry Zack. Really I am…”

“I know you are... I wish...I wish things could have been different...” Zack put his sword down and just sat on the ground. “It’s times like this where I wish I had never been a prince...” Zack then just sighed and laid back. 

As he looked to the sky he thought back on everything. “One thing I’ll say, when I’m king I’m changing that rule.” Zack was silent for a few more minutes before saying. “..I’m not gonna see you again...Am I?”
