Artem Iskhakov. I discovered his case through an infopost in may 2025, and since then I've been interested in it because I found it fascinating how his life completely fell apart due to an obsession with an ex partner. A few months ago I had a bit of an obsession with him because I related to him... not anymore.

Paul Bernardo, although I'm not completely sure. I remember that in 2024 I was studying mental disorders, and while reading about one called sadistic personality disorder (which was later discarded as a diagnosis), I came across a pdf that mentioned his case. One of the details that made me look into it further was the fact that he allegedly played recordings of his victims crying while having sex with his wife... though I want to repeat that I'm not sure it was actually Paul and I may be mixing things up, since it's been a long time since I researched that case (!!!).

Dennis Rader. I remember that in 2025, before I was even involved in the true cum community, I had a mutual on tumblr from the death note fandom who reposted an infopost about his case, and that got me really interested in him. What amazes me is the sense of normalcy and meticulousness with which he approached his crimes. He treated them like school assignments that had to be done perfectly rather than murders.

TW!!The murder of Tatyana Strakhova occurred on the night of January 21–22, 2018, in the Basmanny District of Moscow. Artem Iskhakov, a 19-year-old student, beat and strangled his neighbor — a 19-year-old student of the Higher School of Economics with whom he had previously been in a close relationship — and then inflicted multiple stab wounds on her. According to his own confession, the killer raped the dying Strakhova, and after her death, had sexual intercourse with her corpse several times. Following the murder, Iskhakov committed suicide, having previously left a suicide note with a detailed account of the events on his "VKontakte" page.

Tatyana (Tanya) Igorevna Strakhova — a 19-year-old student who was murdered in Moscow on the night of January 21–22, 2018. The killing was committed by her ex-boyfriend.She studied drafting and drawing, loved going to exhibitions. She was learning Czech and planned to continue her education in Prague. In her free time, she went to raves and concerts, and often spent time in Saint Petersburg. She kept a private Instagram account where she posted photos, including some in lingerie. In private posts, she mentioned struggling with depression and finding life unbearable, calling her life a “horror game.”According to some reports, she was legally married but did not live with her husband. She was a third-year student at the Faculty of Communications, Media, and Design at the National Research University Higher School of Economics. She graduated from the "First External Studies School” school with a gold medal.

Artyom Maratovich Iskhakov — a 19-year-old third-year student at Bauman Moscow State Technical University (BMSTU) who became known in connection with a tragic event — the murder of 19-year-old Tatyana Strakhova in January 2018. He was born on May 22, 1998, in Moscow. He came from a well-off, large family, with an older brother Timur and a younger sister Leah. He finished school as an external student. He excelled particularly in the exact sciences — mathematics and physics — and participated in programming Olympiads. He entered Bauman Moscow State Technical University, majoring in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. At the university, he stood out for his intelligence and unconventional thinking. At the same time, he worked as a programmer and earned a good salary. Fellow students described him as a “good and kind guy” who was into music and understood “what other people feel.” In 2015, he met Tatyana Strakhova. They had a romantic relationship, but later broke up, though they continued living together in a rented apartment. In the months leading up to the tragedy, Iskhakov was distressed because Tatyana did not reciprocate his feelings and showed interest in his friend. He sought help from a psychologist and took antidepressants. According to some sources, he also had issues with using light drugs and alcohol.

The murder happened in a rented apartment that Tanya and Artyom shared. On a cold January evening, the guy raped the girl, stabbed her to death, and then killed himself. Everything that happened that fateful night, and what Artyom felt in his final moments, he described in detail on his VK page. What he wrote was a revelation for many.

Almost the entire existence of today’s youth— or at least half of it — happens online. Photos are posted there, emotions are poured out in texts, and all problems and experiences are discussed in endless chats with friends. Tanya Strakhova and Artyom Iskhakov were no exception in this sense.

And now, after their deaths, friends, acquaintances, and random online buddies are making their private messages with the tragedy’s victims public. Someone hacked Artyom’s secret diary, which he had kept for two years. From the entries the guy made, it’s clear that Tanya was his first, true love. He experienced everything that happened between them very intensely.

“Oh, the way she kissed. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that light nibbling of lips and the taste of Orbit for kids on her lips.”

They had met earlier, but their relationship started at a hangout in October.

“I was wandering around looking for a girl to make out with. While roaming, I ran into Tanya. She said her wallet and phone had been stolen and asked me to help find them. I told her to get lost, lol. Closer to morning, I went on another raid, saw her, and since I knew she was a pretty loose girl, I walked up and said, ‘Let’s make out?’ So we kissed. Oh, the way she kissed. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that light nibbling of lips and the taste of Orbit for kids on her lips. Then again, and again, and again. I started talking to her intensely after that. We met up during the week, went to the little parks, she sat on my lap, I hugged her and told her everything would be okay (she was suffering after a breakup and all that). Then I invited her to get drunk on the weekend, and she said, ‘You do realize we’re going to sleep together, right?’ I stayed silent.” — Artyom’s words.

"At the end of December, she stayed over a couple of times. Once she started crying and said she didn’t want me to leave. A week before New Year’s, she said her ex-girlfriend was coming and would stay at her place for a couple of days. I got a little triggered. But I didn’t care, because I was too in love, and because she said no one turned her on except me at that moment. In the end, the three of us hung out at my place for New Year’s, listening to music. Tanya left me a gift. We both cried when we said goodbye, because I was leaving for ten days.I came back, and we spent time together just like before. I felt absolutely magical. The best time of my life, seriously.” - Artyom.

But by spring, Tanya's feelings for Artyom began to fade. Recalling March 2017, the guy writes the following:

"She said she was tired of always sitting in cafes and doing the same old crap. That she was bored, that we had nothing to talk about. She mentioned, by the way, that she had never been with anyone longer than four months, because after that she starts seeing all their flaws. We discussed everything and decided to see each other once or twice a week, instead of almost every day."

But the couple was still together. At least, that's what Artyom thought. Then, unexpectedly for him, Tanya started a romance with his friend.

"Everything was going along somehow until one hangout. After it, Tanya started talking with my friend. I got triggered, we fought. We fought for the first time ever. She didn't talk to me for two days, then I somehow managed to smooth things over more or less. Along the way, it turned out that this friend brought her into our group, which meant I almost never hung out with her alone — always with them. I told her I'd like to spend more time with her, and she was like, 'I want to be around people right now, and being with you alone is boring.' Everything felt off, and at one point she wrote that we needed a break so she could figure herself out — 'I have feelings, but I don't want to continue this relationship anymore, I'm tired.' I replied that it was a good idea and that I'd been thinking of suggesting it myself. We kept chatting, and a couple of hours later she says, 'I looked at some photos and realized I'm not ready to let all this go just yet.' The next day she came over to my place, we had sex. And in the evening we went out with my friends. Now I'm thinking — if we had started seeing each other less often back then, if we had really taken that break, everything would've been fine."*

How and why did they end up living together? Friends say that Tanya initially rented an apartment with a female friend, but that friend moved out. Artyom had always been by her side, plus he comes from a well-off family. She suggested that he move in with her and they split the rent, for the sake of saving money.

Most likely, the guy agreed to it in order to be closer to the girl he loved. But living together only made him suffer and torment him. From some of the posts, it’s clear that Artyom even consulted a psychologist online. He also tried to distract himself by meeting other girls on the internet.

He seemed to realize he was literally on the verge of a breakdown. But there was no one to stop him.

"Anyway, yesterday I was drinking with a friend at our place. Tanya and my friend decided to go get beer. I said:

— I'm coming with you. — Artyom

— Why? — Tanya

— Because I want to. — Artyom

— Geez. Just go by yourself then. — Tanya

— Either I come with you, or I don't go anywhere. — Artyom

"She got upset and went alone. We caught up with her, and my friend started getting on our case, saying we were starting a fire over nothing. We argued a bit, then the two of them left together, and I went to get the beer... I come back, my friend sits us down in the kitchen and says, “Talk about your relationship.” In the end, I told her a whole bunch of things I really think about her. I asked her, “Why the hell can't you reconsider your attitude toward me so that we could at least theoretically be together?” She said it was completely impossible. Simply because she doesn't see me as a guy at all, and she feels very awkward because I'm important to her and she doesn't want to hurt me. I told her she's a fucking child and behaves like a hypocritical bitch, because most of the time she doesn't show in the slightest that she cares about how I'm feeling. She said the only option is to stop living together so we don't cause each other problems. "

Iskhakov beat and strangled Tatyana, with whom he had previously been in a close relationship, and then inflicted multiple stab wounds on her. According to Iskhakov, when Tatyana headed to her room, he attacked her and punched her in the face several times. Blood began to flow from the girl’s mouth, and she begged Iskhakov to leave. Then he started strangling her. As a result of the strangulation, Strakhova lost consciousness, but her heart continued to beat. Iskhakov had sexual intercourse with the girl’s still-living body. Then, by his own admission, he took a knife and cut Strakhova’s throat. Tatyana’s heart was still beating, so Iskhakov inflicted two more stab wounds — this time between her ribs — and then had sexual intercourse with the body again. To avoid seeing the blood and hearing the “strange sounds” that Strakhova’s body continued to make, the killer stuffed tights into the girl’s mouth. After committing the murder, Iskhakov took his own life, having first left a suicide note with a detailed account of what had happened on his VKontakte page.
