I have complicated feelings about drawing ferns :/
Idmonarachne is a small carboniferous arachnid, closely related to spiders. In this image it drinks water from a pool, with ferns and sphenophyllum plants.
For @arachnidartzine
Loooooooooooooooooooong Friend!!! (aka an Oarfish Vaporeon variation ;3 )
New specimen: Frederick (greater tufted slurper)
Part of the slurper class, this little fella is a lot more docile compared to its typical vicious cousins. It lives in groups near the northern poles of the planet, which are still only a semi crisp 50-30 degrees. Eschvéu does not get particularly cold. This fluffy fella possesses a down that is unusually deeply rooted, and while very nice, is hell to try and harvest. Unfortunately though, in modern Neodani society, these aliens are endangered, from mass poaching for their skins. An unusual feature about both the greater and lesser tufted slurpers are their feelers, which are uniquely bare. Most cool climate vertebrates have a velvety covering over their feelers, but not Frederick. Instead, the feelers blood vessels work similarly to that of a penguins feet, to help better control heat loss.
Overall, very stout little fellows. Highly recommend

in the cosmosdex universe, there are stellar drakes, which are reaaally large star-eating wyrms. so i thought “huh, what if those guys had hematophagic parasites” and before i knew it i had these not-arthropods in front of me. i’ll have to wait until the next fauna section opening to submit them, but i’m pretty happy with their design. calling them ichnesips. also, the sexual dimorphism shown here doesn’t apply to the whole species, just this particular population on one particular stellar drake host, each population is visually different even if in a subtle way
living in space isn’t incredibly plausible, but then, the cosmosdex universe is established to not be incredibly realistic (see: giant star-munching dragons, also there’s normal winged bird-humanoids who glow and can survive in space for no apparent reason, also this is a universe where people can have psychic powers anyway), so i think by those standards they’re not as unrealistic as they could be. tried to make them vaguely plausible-looking anyway, i have some vague idea of how they evolved/what they evolved from but. there’s nowhere to put that info really
So @ohnoitstbskyen pointed out how lame “Deep Sea” Nami is. So as a little experiment I pulled up Teemo.io to see how I could work with her existing model. And I had an idea bout how I could abuse her hair rig.
Oh this is quite good! Certainly better than the current base form, at least I think so. Nice use of a gulper eel’s mouth on the head there, that’s really clever.
I don’t think a Deep Sea Nami necessarily has to be monstrous and terrifying (there are quite pretty things in the deep dark), but it should at least be more interesting than just “sexy cleavage mermaid but the fins are a little weird.”
Headshot of my symbiotesona Blight⚗ They do not posses any spider-like powers bc theyre not related to Venom or any of the other symbiotes on earth. But they have other abilities; Their spit is v versatile & can be thickened and used like a sticky bomb or thinned and spat as a acidic poison. Theyre pointy too >:3€

Not at all my usual fair on this blog, but when I saw these I had a vivid vision of me in 2nd grade, trying to write a story about robot dinosaurs. I hope this artwork takes you back to a similar feeling of childlike wonder.
