Everything seems to be going wrong, and it is everyone else’s fault

They’re not fast enough, they’re too quiet or too loud, they’re not understanding the patients, and a whole other heap of things that’s making Robby see red. Most especially, they’re not getting out of his fucking way

Robby is body-checking people without a care in the world, barking at people to clear the way, face already twisted into a snarl when someone, anyone, tries to say anything about it

As he’s thundering across the Pitt, most likely going to his computer, Dennis isn’t looking up and is directly in his path

Nurses and doctors watch from the sidelines, silently praying. Dennis is so sweet and kind, it’s going to be a heartbreaking sight when he cries after Robby rips into him

But that doesn’t happen

“Excuse me, Whitaker,” Robby says softly, placing a hand on Whitaker’s waist and gently moving him to the side

“Oh! I’m sorry Dr Robby.” Dennis says apologetically, looking up at him with those wet, soulful eyes

Robby just smiles and seems to squeeze the younger man’s hip. “It’s no problem. Remember to get out of your head, we’re in the ER after all.”

Dennis nods his head and happily goes on his way. The moment Dennis turns the corner, Robby's face reverts back from the relaxed smile to dark and angry. It's such a dramatic change, and everybody is left staring till Robby barks out more orders
