rewatching minecraft arg but the "protagonist" is fatigued and it's kind of killing me
clonelin is referred to as a protagonist in quotes by the fuckign video title. even outside of this world theres no respect for their identity
even the signs clonelin writes change after being written. an imperfect, inconsistent copy, like their fluctuating username
the way collin and clonelin interact very vividly reminds me of the way two siblings with a significant age gap act. clonelin exists only in reference to collin, even the "world itself" [that pumpkin patch pit] says so. clonelin recycles collin's speech to talk. collin tricks clonelin in a very obvious way. clonelin in general seems rather juvenile? reacting strongly, seeing less room for nuance, seemingly incapable of ignoring perceived slights, it all reads like a kid living in an older sibling's shadow. taking after them in that inescapable way.
also in protagonist is tired 2, it struck me how collin doesn't incessantly dispute clonelin's identity. the exact exchange that stuck out to me is "can you, like, get your own house or something?" "no! i am collin." "uhm- yeah. i-i, okay. i'm... i'm collin too....... get your own house." LIKE. THE ENTIRE SCENE LEADS WITH COLLIN SAYING CLONELIN IS GETTING ON HIS NERVES BUT HE'S SO GENTLE IN THIS ONE SMALL WAY AND IT KILLS ME. oneshef making collin and clonelin dynamic specifically to ruin me i swear. [the scene is like 8 minutes into the vid if you want to hear his delivery bc. oughhhhhh.]
