  What are dreams?  What do they mean?  Are dreams the reflections of our desires? Are dreams the mirror images of our experiences?  Perhaps they’re a combination of both.  Dreams may be our sub-conscious’ way of imposing its will on our conscious; that little voice crying out loud at our most vulnerable state – sleep.   Us being our own personal cheerleaders, rooting us on towards the life we hope to live.

 What do dreams mean?  If we dream of an “ex” love, does it reflect an inner desire to re-connect with them?  If we dream of a number or series of numbers, should we run out and play the lottery?  If I dream of a beach, does that mean I need a vacation?  These euphoric thoughts and images can be a hindrance to our realities if we are not careful.   We can easily get so caught up in how “real” a dream feels that we let them carry over into our awakened state, and begin to daydream, not actually accomplishing anything. 

 Our senses are very heightened while we are asleep.  We are physically able to see, hear, feel, smell, taste, and touch things in our dreams that may seem as if we actually went through what we dreamed about.  I often dream of my grandparents and all the life’s lessons they left me.  It gives me the sense of them still looking over me, reminding me of what they taught me.   I have looked for meanings of my dreams, to no avail.  However, I find solace in the subliminal interaction with lost loved ones.  I have yet to uncover the true meanings of my dreams, but I am committed to living beyond them.  If I can dream it, then I can achieve it!  So can you.  Now wake up and live life on purpose.

I had a long and healthy debate of sorts on Facebook today that started out talking about Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade and their whole drama with this new baby. The conversation lead to talking about Evelyn Lozada and Kim Kardashian and how it seems they fall in and out of love like some of us choose a restaurant for dinner.  Not only do many women seem to think that these two women are quick to fall in love, but it seems that they are gold diggers, opportunists, and media hounds. I remain neutral on the issue of how long is appropriate for one to wait between serious, committed relationships. As far as the types of men they end up with, well I do see a pattern, however they are both beautiful women and maybe just maybe a certain type of guy goes after them.  If you work at Walmart, (no matter how attractive you are) do you think you can pull Evelyn? I won't judge them either way. My own personal journey includes walking away from my husband who I loved very deeply but things fell apart. Someone I've known most of my life came around at that time and I really care for him. Would it be wrong or too soon for me to settle down with him because I JUST ended that 19 year relationship?  Who's to say I can't love the new guy because I loved my husband? These are the kinds of judgements that celebrities face everyday.  I am in the music business, but dodge fame like the plague. I need the space to make my mistakes and figure out life without the scrutiny. THAT IS ALL
