I haven't been here for ages, but I want to keep this blog alive for a while.

I need to periodically make posts here to keep this blog alive.  I use it now and then to explore what different changes will look like on a blog.

I need to make the occasional post to keep this blog alive in Tumblr, so I’m doing that.  Things are still changing - all for the good :)

I’ve been away for a long time.  I’m going to be experimenting with blog features like changing themes, etc.  So the blog’s appearance will change, or I may accidentally break it as I teach myself about what Tumblr can and can’t do.

Today’s blast of color is red.  This is a brocade pelargonium (Pelargonium x hotorum) in full glory.  Though it’s a small mounding plant, it’s still capable of an intense visual punch - definitely not for the faint of heart!

Today’s blast of color is yellow.  I came across this amazing path during my walk around the neighborhood.  It’s a bit sad that this display will only last for a short while - but we should always be grateful when good things cross our path and savor them to the fullest while we can.

Today’s blast of color is pink.  A close by neighbor has a row of flowering plum trees in full glory right now.  A soft, sweet fragrance perfumes the surrounding air.  Many flowering trees are busting out in my area - especially Bradford pear, acacia and some varieties of magnolia.

Standing in the morning light, this flower spike rises from a variegated aloe arborescens.  Humanity is capable of creating amazing art.  But nature, while inspiring us, humbles us, leaves us in awe, and fills us with joy.
