Wrapping up
On Tuesday Jan 26th the blog’s year came to an end. It’s not called 12 52 365 for no reason folks. One year is all I had to watch, read and listen to all the things.
So, let’s have a bit of a recap, a look back, a wrap up as we wind down the curtain. (More on that later) How did I think the year went? Glad I did it, or was it more of an annoyance. I’m not sure I could call the blog a complete success. I mean, I missed two out of three targets, and quite badly on the movies front. And even the songs, which I did hit, had an update schedule that became quite ... patchy towards the end.
However, I definitely glad that I committed to this, and proud of what I achieved. I think the spirit of the blog was realized - consume more and better media then I would have otherwise. My music horizons, stunted as they were a little, were greatly broadened. Did you know math rock was a thing? And, to be frank, I’m quite impressed at how many books I managed to read/listen. Going from 1 book last year to 11/9 is some achievement.
Yes, sometimes it became a bit of a chore, and some of the songs I definitely put up just to have (though I have come to like some songs I originally posted just to go to bed) and it was really hard to get back on the horse after my holiday, but I’m still happy with how the year went.
So, what now for the blog? Is this last tumblr will see of Oisin? Probably not. I haven’t decided what I’ll be doing yet, and it may be under a different url, but given how much I liked having done this, I don’t think I’ll be walking away. For the short term I’ll be taking some time away while I holiday in Morocco with Rebecca this Sunday, but I’ll be coming back soon after that.
