Answering @palecrepegold ,well I’m just a fan not an expert, but this is my take on what could be done...

THE MATCH WAS A WAKE UP CALL FOR CroNT  To quote Modric after the match,

“There is no point in crying and saying that nothing is good anymore - we need to prepare for the England encounter.”

AND THAT’S THE SPIRIT !  🔥 and this is my view,

1. For the next match against England (October), we can expect to see Rebic, Krama, Dejo back into the team, but not yet for Strinic. And with that, they need to do better for the starting XI. 2. As for defenders, for me the best lineup is Sime-Dejo-Vida-Strinic. Since they have no Strinic, Sime-Dejo-Vida-Barisic. Let’s say that if Sime is still not fully recovered for starting XI, Jedvaj-Dejo-Vida-Barisic. And the worst case if Dejo is also not fit for the starting XI, Jedvaj-Mitrovic-Vida-Barisic. The coaches really need to reconsider calling Caleta-Car for the senior team, he is a really good replacement in Vida/Dejo’s position. 3. Lovre Kalinic my tol giraffe baby did nothing wrong. He needs to step up his reflex more. Pivaric isn’t ready to face big teams yet, I think it’s not a good idea to put him ahead for the starting XI against England. 4. No more excuses for Dalic. Rog belongs in the midfield. I’m sad when he said that they don’t have a right-back replacement for Sime. You have TIN JEDVAJ. 5. As for the midfielders, this is where everything gets tricky. Kovacic isn’t a winger, he’s not fast enough. Kovacic is a perfect attacking midfielder. Let’s say that they use 3 midfielders instead of 4, the best lineup is Raketa-Modric-Brozo/Badelj/Kova or Modric-Kova-Raketa. 6. Brozo needs to fully focus on the pitch for the next match, he wasn’t marking Asensio in the match against Spain who was their biggest threat. 7. If they want to use a midfielder as a winger, the answer is Marko Rog, not Kovacic. Rog is kinda similar to Modric. 8. As for the tip of the spear, you can’t get better lineup than this 3 Rebic-Krama-Perisic with Rebic and Perisic as wingers, Krama as the tip. What if Rebic is still not 100% fit? Put Pjaca in, he’s a natural winger. So it will be Pjaca-Krama-Perisic. What if Krama is also not 100% fit? Put Livaja in, why? because he can adapts with his surroundings faster than Santini, and we haven’t seen Cop yet. Don’t get me wrong, Santini is good but the coach still need to find the perfect support for him to be effective. 9. I’m not sure if they should use the exact same tactic against England like in    the WC. They need to be more creative with their tip of the spear.

Dalic’s ‘little experiment’ went wrong

Why the fuck they subbed in Rog for injured Sime?? Rog is a brilliant midfielder, not a right-back.

Dalic thought that CroNT doesn’t have a replacement for Sime. So he tried to use Rog as a defender, which was an impossible task to do.

YOU SHOULD HAVE SUB JEDVAJ IN ! not Rog. 

and also, when CroNT doesn’t have Rebic, choose Livaja over Santini for starting XI because of his insane fighting spirit. And choose Barisic over Pivaric for starting XI.

Kovacic isn’t suited for right-wing position. Period.

also Dalic STOP relying for Modric or Rakitic as second striker. They are midfield maestros. MIDFIELD !

Modric, Rakitic, and Perisic, did nothing wrong. The first three goals were Brozo’s, Kova’s, and Pivaric’s fault.

So, for me, who is to blame? Zlatko Dalic

You really put Modric’s life on the line. You threw Perisic into the flame. You turned Raketa’s memorable 100th cap into nightmare. YOU CAN’T DO THAT TO THEM! especially Modric
