A Collection of Artists

Kristina Podobed is a young photographer who works exclusively with a film point and shoot camera. She works with her friends, and has recently been featured on Editorial Magazine Online. She is both fashionable and political, and is changes locations between Odessa and Kiev. 

Samantha Belden has nearly graduated as a photo student from Columbia College in Chicago, and will receive her diploma in Spring 2016. She concerns herself mostly with ideas of intimacy, the familial, and preservation, as represented in her photographic works. In particular, she focuses on her grandmother as her main subject in order to sort of immortalize their relationship. 

Jason Koxvold is mainly a found-object photographer, documenting his surroundings and interesting objects from his own point of view to create interesting compositions. He did not go to school for photography, but instead, studied social sciences. He is currently based out of upstate New York.  

Kristian Thacker finds aesthetically pleasing compositions in nature and beyond in his photo-documentary work. Originally from West Virginia, Kristian pays attention to subtle details that many people would walk across without taking much note. He now lives in Pittsburgh, and focuses almost entirely on the American landscape.

Hyounsang Yoo explores idealized realities and abstracted concepts and shapes to make fantastic and vibrant still life imagery. He has been featured in the New York Bridge Art Fair, EXPO Chicago, Netherlands Drents Museum Assen, and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Truly bizarre, Yoo’s work relates history, media, and socio-political landscapes of consumer markets. 

Ryan Shorosky is a male photographer from southern New Jersey who is a found-image artist. He is very intrigued by isolating words found in his immediate environments, creating an external meaning to where there might not otherwise be one pictured. He also creates portraits that are photojournalistic, and information-giving about his location.

Joe Rudko, a photographer who went to Western Washington University just outside of Canada, works with fine art principles to create abstract pieces. His work has been featured on The Stranger, Dust Magazine Online, Beautiful Decay, and Juxtapoz Magazine Online. Currently stationed in Seattle, Washington, Joe could perhaps be best known for his album cover he did for Death Cab for Cutie on “Narrow Stairs.”

Ami Vitale is a photojournalist who is extremely keen on color and light. She is influenced heavily by her political views, and they show up in her photo work. She is involved in the anti-poaching movement in Africa, and once raised $25,000 to continue photographing the indigenous groups that operate at the frontlines of the poaching wars. 

Peggy Sirota is a commercial jack-of-all-trades photographer. She does it all: fashion, beauty, lifestyle, celebrity work, advertising, and kids! She has a ridiculous amount of work and is clearly pretty comical and lighthearted, drawing from her music-ladened website and humorous content within her imagery.

Alex Prager is a west coast photographer, and is inspired by her surroundings heavily. She has had countless solo and group exhibitions inside and outside of her home in LA. She has a knack for capturing authentic drama that does not, for the most part, appear processed. In her series, “Compulsion,” however, she takes classic Hollywood motifs and turns them into stills that stir wonder in viewers.

Emily Nathan is a fashion photographer who is clearly very positive and friendly. This is represented through her photos and warm online presence. She has been awarded by Communication Arts: Fresh, as one of PDN's 30, and is the founder and editor-in-chief of the magazine Tiny Atlas Quarterly. Her clients include Airbnb, Apple, AKQA, The Cement Block, Citrix, Conde Nast Traveler, and Dell, to name just a fraction.

Diana Markosian is a ridiculously dedicated and driven artist. She works with both personal and more exploratory concepts and ideas. One theme she has chosen to focus on is the absence of her father throughout her life. The photos compiled draw out a sense of great empathy and understanding of her abandonment. 

Sara Naomi Lewkowicz is a documentary photographer. She is based in Manhattan, New York, but travels everywhere to work with her subjects. Arguably her most important series was “Shane and Maggie,” a look at a domestically-abusive relationship. She has been published in Time Magazine among numerous other magazines and newspapers. 

Gillian Laub is a southern photographer focused on the controversial topics of race and gender. She is the successful creator of multiple books revealing information through photographs on the Middle East and the present-day South. She has photographed Barack and Michelle Obama, Pharell, and Laverne Cox, to name a few. 

Stephanie Gonot is a comical still-life photographer who utilizes beautiful lighting and sassy staging to create hilarious images. She is based in LA, and finds inspiration in bright, vibrant colors to continue adding to her expansive body of work. 

Nicole Franzen is primarily an interiors photographer. She also works to create the perfect cookbook image, combining seemingly natural-light with delicious-looking, fresh foods. Her images provide a sense of warmth, making the viewer want to jump into the scene and eat or stay in the environment she is photographing.

Barbara Davidson is a photojournalist and works on “hard” or “gritty” news cases. She has earned a Pulitzer prize for her tension-filled photos, and has won POYi Newspaper Photographer of the Year in the past. Barbara is most interested in capturing gang violence in her home, Los Angeles, California.
