Steve was rolling and turning in bed, the dark circles under his eyes ever prominent. He couldnโt sleep, he couldnโt for the last 5 days. Their bed just felt way too empty without his girl, y/n.ย
She had been away for a โgirlโs dayโ with Natasha and Wanda.
He had been counting the hours until she would come home, she had been away for exactly 5 days 14 hours 23 minutes, and 30 seconds and counting.
Only 1 day and a few hours until she would be in his arms again, then he could finally get some sleep.

Steve was basically bouncing with excitement, his y/n would be coming home today.ย
He hailed a cab, getting in before the driver could say anything.
โWhere ya wanna go?โ The pot-bellied driver asked, in a gruff voice. โThe airport!โ He said right away. The driver nodded.
He ran straight out, as soon as the cab stopped. He exhausted eyes found yours right away. You, unlike him, looked refreshed. Your silky h/c hair was in soft curls and your e/c eyes twinkled in delight at spotting him.
โHey, there handsome.โ You giggled. โYou look beautiful, as always, doll.โ He said in a tired voice. You frowned, โArenโt you excited to see me?โย
โOf course, Iโm just really worn out. I havenโt been able to sleep without you snuggled next to me.โ He explained.
โWell...then why donโt we go home and let you get some rest? The flight has got me weary too.โ y/n suggested. He nodded eagerly.ย
When they had gotten home, Steve was out like a light, with you nestled tightly into his side.
