These demons that haunt me

Oh god I’ve never felt so alone

Alone in a crowded room

Alone in this space that I call my mind

I grew

I learned

I made mistakes

And they continue

But it doesn’t mean I don’t reflect.

Not as often as I should.

That’s why I’m here.

To escape the cruel reality of my world and to speak out my thoughts

My thoughts of pain that eat me inside. The thoughts that haunt me at night. The thoughts whisper and louder and louder til they win a day.

This is why I’m here.

To speak my thoughts and my demons.

The demons that haunt me early as day and late as night.

Some days are better than others but today I think it’s okay to let them win

To get the small taste of numbness that I crave. I crave the physical pain to help me ignore what really hurts inside.

It can’t be any song.

But a song for you.

Now I can’t sing, dance or blow your mind but I can give you my hand and explore the world together.

Now I don’t need money, drugs or booze to be happy, just knowing you’re all mine it makes everything fine.
