The comics go out of their way to show the regular people of NY as shallow and disgusting, ready to go postal at the slightest provocation, thereby painting a world worth hating and destroying.

But, isn't Notim being wrong, the point? Isn't it the point that he is NOT some enlightened vigilante killing people who DESERVE it? His in-game kills are cowering civilians and heroes who tried to defend them. Notim Portant is a man who stewed in his hatred for years without any outside intervention or help until it blinded him into a murderous frenzy, THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT.

Even a well-meaning, non-violent person can tell you this world is corrupt and that humans can be covetous and deceitful. Stating the obvious doesn't give you carte blanche to kill everyone standing in your way.

Not to mention, the game's whole (supposed) appeal is playing as a villain. Players unironically agreeing with any words that come out of Notim's mouth (instead of being scandalized) would go against the devs' intentions.
