Some of this is canon, but for the most part this is my interpretation of the character. I might expand on or add on to this later if I forget anything or want to add on. I hope this helps!

Since Yugo is Filipino, I like to Hc that Epic is too and speaks Tagalog

And has other cultural mannerisms like not wear shoes in indoor living spaces and the only footwear would be house slippers

Epic and his Papyrus were created from test tubes

To make them, EpicGaster cut out holes in his palms.

Epic was created first years before Papyrus—it was never said when, but I believe Epic is at least 16 years or so older than EpicPapyrus and raised him given that Epic was old enough to work in a lab with EpicGaster but was clearly still younger than the other adult assistants

EpicGaster caused both the holes in Epic’s hands

And it’s why Epic hates them

Just like his Eye. It’s why he wears fingerless gloves and keeps his left eye closed most of the time

Epic’s magic, unlike all other monsters (I guess the exception could be snow types like Snowdrake but even then I think he’d be colder) is cold because of the Eye

An explanation for this

If Epic is killed/dies, the Eye will regenerate him to his previously unaffected state

However, if Epic is nonlethally injured, the injury will remain and heal at a faster rate than normal monsters, but the damage is not immediately undone like it would be if he died. Epic hates dying, so he’d take getting injured over dying even if it means he’ll scar/need to rely on his regenerative healing factor.

Epic is a genius given he was one of the Royal Scientists and worked with EpicGaster in his studies at a very young age

He has multiple PhDs (in what I assume are physics and such) and I believe has knowledge of and can vaguely see/understand a universe’s Code.

Epic loves manga and anime and makes it his job to enlighten his friends

It is his sacred duty to “make them men of culture” as well

Epic is a weeb and has tons of silly merch and collectibles

it also makes me think he’d do a lot of casual cosplay, like maybe wear Vash Stampede’s trenchcoat, but purple, and stuff like that

Epic’s style is primarily masculine, but he does enjoy gender nonconforming and feminine fashion as well

Ofc, he also enjoys clothes that reference or allude to memes and pop culture. Some examples of his favorites are Cookie Monster, Shrek, Dragonball Z, and Trigun Stampede

Epic studied his Code in the past to stop dying in his dreams from the Eye.

When EpicGaster fell into the Void, he was no longer able to see through the Eye in Epic’s body. It’s a little comfort to Epic, though, and he hates and fears his Eye more than anything else

Epic is extremely depressed and often exhausted due to dying in his sleep and developing a high LV because of it. He hides behind an overly cheerful façade not as a lie but basically to “fake it ‘til he makes it”

And he is a goofy guy! I think most of it is genuine if not exaggerated

It’s easy for Epic to get emotionally blunted or numb bc of the sleep deprivation and LV, and he tries to hide this by keeping up his goofy memelord personality.

He’s used to running on little to no sleep after forcing himself to get used to it to avoid the nightmares. He’s constantly snacking on sweets and caffeinated drinks as a result

Epic’s always carrying around condoms to use for a bit/joke that he accidentally develops the habit of nibbling on a condom wrapper whenever he’s stressed

He makes sure no one sees him do it but he kicks himself for making a bit become an addiction xD Now he’s got an oral fixation and a biting k*nk and it’s no one else’s fault but his.

Or he’s joked about them for sexy times so much that now he’s Pavloved himself to get horny whenever he or someone else holds a packet

Epic loves kids: the best “Bruhncle” ever

He loves playing with them and every child he was shown interacting with had a good time with him, like TK, Goth, baby Epic!Asriel and Palette Roller

I think Epic wants kids of his own with a loving partner but has accepted it as more of an out of reach fantasy. If he does have kids of his own he strikes me as a total wonderful girl dad who’d love the tea parties and Barbie dressups they’d do together

I think bc of this he’d be very protective of kids in general

Epic’s friends mean the world to him. Look at how much he adores Cross and would do anything for his best friend

Epic got body pillows, like his condoms and rubber chickens, as a bit

However, there is only one he’s serious about: his Hatsune Miku body pillow of grandma Miku from the AMV by Deco27 in the song called Blue Planet and is very proud of his GILF

He got a Cross body pillow as a joke and would send screenshots to Cross about taking his new best friend out to hang. Cross got jealous and stole the pillow and burned it later

Epic has goofy rizz

Earnest and sweet, he’s an absolute goofball. Think corny and so wholesome you don’t even feel the cringe anymore. I’m talking he takes you out on a date for a beautiful picnic with goodies he made and bought and when the sun sets he’d pose with a rose in his mouth and lay on his side with an arm at his waist and wiggle his boney brows when he asks “ya like jazz?”

He’d tell Cross “yo, I didn’t know my place was an art gallery since you’re drawin’ straight up masterpieces here bruh!”

Epic would tell Killer that he loved the outfit the fashionista made for him and that he loved it so much he wanted to “lovingly bite his fingers off/pos”

His flirts and compliments are memes and an unholy amalgamation of modern day and outdated lingo; nothing to make anyone uncomfortable however, consent and boundaries are important to Epic, especially after most of his were violated for the better part of his formative years by EpicGaster (shit parenting and because EG could see through the Eye, so Epic had little to no privacy or autonomy)

Like the rest of the Chromatic Crew, Epic has some meta abilities and occasionally breaks the fourth wall

For example, he can see Color’s flavor text and jokes that Color is the doge meme, much to Color’s befuddlement (my links aren’t working here so try checking out @toffeebrew they did such cute art about this)

Epic flirts but give him a genuine flirt or compliment? Bashful and shy he’s a blushy mess

Call him the cutest and sweetest man you’ve ever met and he forgets his own name in the melted puddle he becomes

Over twenty years of nonstop fighting in his sleep and gaining LV from killing the creatures of the Eye has made Epic a magic powerhouse

His mana is off the charts and it’s why he can keep up with Cross, a monster whose Soul was half of a Determined humans and now possessed DT even after his split from XChara

He doesn’t work out extensively like Cross but they do spar, as do him and Delta and occasionally Killer to socialize and not because he wants to keep his body in shape/muscled like Cross or Delta or even toned like Killer but bc he wants to stay agile and sharp against the Eye

He and Cross play fight and rough house a lot too. It may look scary to an outside observer, them snarling and growling and biting at each other like feral animals, but they’re having a blast and laugh right after and gently headbonk when it’s all done and cuddle after cooling down and play video games or smth

Epic is an astrophile

Some of his favorite dates are the stargazing ones or ones in Outertale

He has space themed clothes and outfits

We’ve seen them react to Dora the Explorer; they’d probably treat themselves to the childhood they never had and watch Pokemon, Blue’s Clues, The Magic School Bus, Sesame Street, Samurai Jack, Powerpuff Girls, etc

They sob everytime they watch The Land Before Time with Little Foot and his mama

Epic can sew

He can sew, learning from repairing and making clothes for himself and his younger brother.

It’s one of his and Killer’s shared hobbies, where occasionally they both fashion and design different outfits and gifts for each other and their friends. Like a satchel for Color to store his scrapbook and Polaroid camera and film as well as tech pants with numerous pockets for Delta. He’s fashioned several chocolate themed bandanas for Cross as well

Epic, the weeb he is, also uses this skill to make cosplay

Epic has an extremely high pain tolerance

Specifically he's good at withstanding awful things (think Killer, both from torment and death from Epic!Gaster and his sleep demons, pain and survival were his cruel teachers for this “skill”)

Also, sleep deprivation is a legitimate and effective form of torture. Epic has been undergoing this torture, partially self-afflicted, for more than two decades of his life

Epic suffers occasional delusions from sleep deprivation

Color, Cross, Delta, Killer, and whoever else they can get to help all have to get him to sleep when he goes too long without it

They take turns staying with him and making him sleep A Normal Amount (probably more. He needs it)

Unless/if Epic’s sleep demons are somehow and or eventually cured, they’d still take turns staying near him to help ease Epic into a state of comfort and safety to sleep

The Chromatic Crew take turns, but Cross is the only one who always remains, cuddling Epic and sleeping with him. Though sometimes the others will join in and there will be a cuddle pile (Get loved on, Epic xD)

Epic listens to a variety of music but especially likes Vocaloid

Listens to (almost) any song that is sung in Spanish (this started before he met Cross and caused Minor Confusion on what he did and didn't understand: he looks up the lyrics Once if he really likes a song, but otherwise doesn't)

This has led to many, many hilarious situations. Such as Epic singing Despacito as a meme and Cross choked on his chocolate the first time he heard it xD

Epic used to dislike cats

(Pre-multiversal travel): He doesn't like cats much, but only because he's never met a sweet cat that just goes "hi! :3" (Temmie doesn't count, nor the other cat-adjacent monsters because they're all monsters) Any actual cat he's met was either a grumpy old hissy sourpuss or wasn't stranger-friendly (like hiding away from him or just avoiding him in general). His first "oh, cats aren’t evil all the way?" Was when he watched Puss in Boots.

Then he went to an animal shelter (with Cross maybe?) And Experienced Cuddly Balls of Fluff and Whimsy

Epic’s favorite desserts after cookies, chocolate, and halo-halo are jolly ranchers/hard candy suckers

Epic likes to chew on and savor things so jolly ranchers and hard candies are fun for him

Epic enjoys physics and quantum mechanics with several degrees in both subjects, but he specializes in chemistry

Has the entire periodic table of elements, along with almost every bit of basic information about each element, memorized

Cross playfully flirted with him once “No wonder you’re my best friend, you must be an alchemist ‘cause we have so much chemistry.” And Epic blushed and faltered for a few seconds too long that he accidentally oversized the two chemicals he was holding and the reaction exploded in his face. Cross apologized profusely after but Epic laughed it off, grateful that the soot covered his face completely and hid his embarrassed blush

He really likes the movie Moana

Epic loves the ocean and any and all beach-related escapades

He often swims in trunks but occasionally a bikini, depending on if he’s feeling for a certain outfit or look that day or not

Has the most boring, droning scientist voice for his written reports

Epic!Gaster made him write standard formality and got super caught up on Every Little Thing so when Epic writes scientifically, he sounds dead inside

Epic enjoys word play and learning about other languages

This does not mean he’s a master of other languages however xD

Epic is fluent in English and Tagalog, Terrible with Arabic, and only passable thanks to Cross’s dedicated tutelage at Spanish

Favorite thing about human culture (besides the memes) is the myth that English (non-scientific English) has rules. No, you small-brained piece of grass, It Does Not. Nobody tell him anything.

Much like his compliments, Epic has the silliest, strangest insults

He uses “grass stain” as an insult

He Greatly Dislikes trying to remove grass stains from clothes

Calls Nightmare “His Royal Hentainess” because of the tentacles

Whenever a ship that’s a non-binary person x a girl or a non-binary person x a boy is labeled yuri/yaoi.

You are quite literally putting people who do not fall into the gender binary based off the gender they date. Yes there are gay non-binary people and lesbian non-binary people but still.

We even have so many variations made for non-binary people in ships for a silly internet term, one I found being Yaouri

Omg when I tell you I got so happy to get an ask after so long, and of my two favorite besties, that I outright squealed! Aaaaaaah I’m so happy 🥰

Okay! So, I agree, it’s not common — pretty rare, even — that Cross and Epic would get into a bad or serious argument. Epic is the only one Cross truly relaxes around and is comfortable expressing himself without fear of judgement. He lets himself be cringe, like using meme terminology such as UwU or referring to himself as an alpha sigma and Epic is his awesome omega, etc.

Heck look back at any of the old comics and you see Cross having an absolute blast getting up to shenanigans with Epic, be it Jojo poses, rubber chicken battles, or riding a T-Rex (who I’ve decided is named Lenore because yes).

It’s a well-earned and precious vulnerability that comes with being best friends that both can feel free to be their truest selves around the other, to feel warm and comfortable and around each other. On the comfortable with touch/hugs meter Jakei made, Cross was on the “doesn’t like” part of the scale.

Yet in comics before Cross lost his memory (OVERWRITE), he’s shown to not only welcome Epic’s touch, but also initiate it as well — Cross DOES enjoy physical touch and intimacy, ONLY if he’s extremely comfortable with someone/trusts them. In Underverse and the comics he’s shown to exhibit signs of touch-starvation, so it makes sense that he’d fulfill that with someone like Epic.

There’s Epic, who in general is highly emotionally intelligent and an easygoing guy, who would prefer to people please or charm his way out of situations than to go for confrontation in most arguments or fights. He’s extremely tactile and adores physical affection. He’s more than capable of going on the offensive but prefers as minimum contention as possible.

That takes it to how they’d both respond to an argument given how they perceive confrontation. Also, how I imagine Cross and Epic respond is reflected both on what I’ve seen from their behaviors in response to stress and trauma in their respective comics and Underverse, and also based on the mental disorders I believe they have.

Firstly, shout out to @sarcosticsarcomere , who was the first to propose a BPD and NPD mental disorder Cross based on analyzing Cross’s character and how much of his behavior and trauma reflected someone who has borderline personality disorder. Bc of hys analysis, I can’t unsee Cross as someone with BPD, and therefore would have rage attacks and narcissistic collapse (we see some of this in his anger and fight with XTale Papyrus when he punched him and demanded he called him his real name, Cross.

The aftermath of the argument could follow with a narcissistic collapse. This often occured when he was with XChara, and XChara tried to take control of the body or influence Cross’s decisions by using Cross’s dissociation to make him spiral further; Cross displaying feelings of worthlessness, shame, and passive suicidal tendency during those episodes).

Cross is confrontational and ranges from passive-aggressive to outright violent towards others when he perceives they’ve wronged and or hurt him. Ink was his best friend for nearly a decade, and kept him sane and prevented him from becoming a glitch when he was trapped in the voided XTale. Ink was the one who inspired Cross’s passion for art, who introduced him to his favorite food, tacos.

Their friendship was so real and genuine that Ink, never intending to befriend Cross or even consider him a true friend (since Ink views themself and other multiverse beings as “characters” and therefore not “real” because they’re all part of Scripts and Stories by Creators) actually DID, and cared deeply for Cross and vice versa.

And how did Cross respond when Ink didn’t side with Cross in collecting Codes of other universes and later released XGaster’s Soul? He punched him in the face and pinned him to a tree with his blade. And Ink is someone Cross cared so much for that he appeared to dissociate after his first fight with Ink about Ink not being able to bring back XTale.

Now, there is Epic, who canonically is extremely depressed and who I believe has Major Depressive Disorder. Epic rarely breaks down, because he hates being lazy and constantly pushes himself to be active and useful, in part because his self-worth is tied to his productivity and also because he’s terrified of falling asleep and entering the Void realm where the Eye’s creatures would torture and kill him unless he outran and killed them first.

We don’t see much of Epic’s life when he was a child, but based on the information from the Epictale prequel comic No Pain No Gain, and tidbits from Epictale’s comic itself, we know that until Gester (shoutout to @sirsquidsalot penning this name for Epictale Gaster) absorbed Frisk’s Soul and dusted, for 28 years of Epic’s life INCLUDING the myriad of True Pacifist Resets Frisk did, Epic had little to no autonomy under Gester. He was artificially created from test tubes with mana Gester collected by coring his palms. Epic from day one was considered a subpar or failed Experiment, and never seen as a son in Gester’s eyes, only as an Asset and tool subplot at best to create the perfect Epictale story.

Since he was born, Epic had it programmed into him that he had no worth unless he was useful, that his intellect was the one good thing about him, that his physical deformities were a disappointment — Epic having the weakest Stats despite being made from the Great Gester. Also how he looks almost nothing like Gester: having four phalanges instead of five, being short and stout instead of tall and muscular.

And going along with how Gester always wanted to be a girl dad and sees Toriel as a daughter and genuinely loves her and not Sans, it’s more devestating when Epic is transmasc, because the one thing that made Epic appealing to him was his cuteness as a girl, and now that he’s a boy he’s less cute. But Epic’s trans identity and Epictale having anime’s influence including a lot of misogynist, transandrophobic and sexist homophobia made Epic repress his queerness and performative in toxic masculinity and promiscuity in denial of his demisexuality, but that’s another ramble for another time.

Because of his less than 1 HP and low Stats, Epic was experimented on to increase said Stats. It’s not shown how that happened, but based on Undertale lore we can infer that violence and non consensual contact with Epic’s Soul were enacted. However Epic’s Stats never sufficiently increased until he was 28 and Gester cored his other palm to create the purple Eye and surgically implanted it into Epic. The Eye didn’t integrate well with Epic, and after weeks of dying and unable to sleep, Epic scarred himself in an attempt to die and end his suffering.

What did Gester do when Epic threatened him to remove the Eye? Told Epic killing himself made the Eye stronger, and that’s how Epic could be useful (essentially suicide baiting Epic. Yes Epic regenerates with the Eye but still, that’s horrible).

Then to create Epictale Papyrus (I refer to him as Packs. Shoutout to Squid again for their incredible names!), he cored both of Epic’s palms to collect Epic’s magic and combine it with Gester’s own, to create both Packs and the Yellow Eye, and it’s why Packs was born with his Eye. Epic doesn’t regret this because he loves his baby brother more than anything — Packs is Epic’s son in all but name. But it was still Epic’s body used without his say. Used by Gester and the Followers however they wanted to.

I bring all this up to explain why Epic would behave in what seems as such a drastic response to an intense argument/huge fight. Epic would first try to pretend the argument didn’t happen in order to keep the peace — because he’s so used to Gester and the Followers always being the ones to be the “winner” of any confrontation anyway that keeping himself safe is to go along with whatever makes them happy. Because if they stay upset with him, he’ll be punished and hurt. He comes to associate arguments and anger directed towards him as a failing on his part, that it’s all his fault, and feels instinctive guilt and shame from the start. So he either agrees and deflects with jokes, and pretends it didnt happen/he’s unbothered by it.

However, if Epic is in a fight with someone he deeply cares about, like Cross? Epic blanks out. This was his safe space, his safe person. He goes numb. He doesn’t know how to fix this, not right now, doesn’t know why he can’t get Cross to calm down.

Paraphrasing from Sarco based on a talk we had months ago about Crepic:

Epic has subconscious medical trauma because of the Experiments. Cross was neglected and physically abused by XGaster (he’d hit Cross and XPapyrus, shown in the 21 Years comic, when he held a toddler X!Papyrus up and would’ve impaled him with his hand spikes if Alphys hadn’t interrupted). Epic knows what it's like to be violated, to have the perception of his body destroyed under the thumb of people in a higher position than him.

Cross knows what it's like to feel inadequate, that no matter what he does it's never enough. He knows what it's like to be seen as imperfect for features he didn’t choose to have and at the same time didn't always want to hide or be rid of.

Sarco was incredibly helpful in my research of cluster B rage attacks. Hy described how it could look for some people as such: What makes the rage attack worse so you know what to avoid for that person. With less stressors the rage will become less intense over time.

What makes it worse are people continuing a discussion that triggered the person experiencing the episode, whether they started it or not. They can’t hear opposing arguments and can’t stand hearing people telling them to "breathe", "drink water" or "take a step back" as if they're a saint about how their mental health works. It always sounds condescending, as if they’re a child that hasn't already tried those things before.

They want to be left alone when a rage attack is triggered. With others though, some might need more than that, and want their close or favorite person there with them when the attack is happening.

A rage attack can affect the body and make it tense up and shake. There needs to be an outlet for that too.

It’s not a surge of anger. It’s pure unfiltered rage: you are absolutely livid and you see everything out of a red lens. Your body is tense and shaking, and everything you touch has a timer for how much longer it'll stay in-tact.

You are on a rampage and every attempt to hold yourself back makes you feel worse. Whatever pissed you off, you want it to hurt worse than you are, and it ticks you off that much more that you can't do just that.

It's like one of those anime rampages where the character losing their shit kills at least a dozen people indiscriminately, and all of that feeling and urges to act out are compressed into you emotionally, and you are expected to wait it out.

If Cross and Epic had a huge fight, they’d yell, they’d cuss, but they would never demean the other (like Cross wouldn’t call Epic a shitty bastard, and would say that whatever it is that has them fighting that Epic did is really shitty and Cross hates it). Or how maybe someone else would say Cross is being insane and needs to calm the fuck down, Epic would reiterate that he’s always on Cross’s side, but he has to stop because this is not his fucking fault, etc.

Cross would either rage and leave because he wouldn’t want to hurt Epic but needs an outlet for the pain he’s feeling, or get angry and then collapse and wonder what he’s done wrong and he dosnt know how to fix this, and he’s so mad he can’t just fix it. With Epic, if Epic became genuinely angry, he’d shut down and need to be alone. The solitude hurts him when all he wants is physical comfort, but he forces himself to hurt anyway because this is what he deserves for making Cross fight with him.

Cross would never hurt his romantic partner, he is NOT that kind of man, and neither would Epic. But Cross feels too out of touch with his body demanding retribution and attack before he gets hurt again — so he leaves before he says something he regrets, and when he’s alone, he rages and sobs until the energy is taken out of him and he dissociates.

Epic, if he’s the one who stormed off, would take out his anger and shame on the Eye. He’d willingly go into the Void realm and let himself be killed over and over again while he sleeps. He doesn’t know what to do. He doesn’t know how to help Cross, how to interact with anyone now or later, nothing. He pushes down his own feelings, his own pain, to focus on Cross and others’ well-being instead of his own.

The fight could be of whatever serious topic pertaining to your story. One of my WIPs has their argument come out of grief, where Cross is grieving and argues with Epic, and Cross isn’t wrong but he’s not right either to lash out. Cross would be furious and say how could Epic not be on his side? Why can’t Epic support him?! And Epic refutes that of course he’s on Cross’s side. He just doesn’t agree here. Epic’s grieving too, but he focuses on Cross because Epic never prioritizes his well-being over others, sometimes a kind and selfless trait but here it’s active self-destruction.

The fight’s aftermath would linger for the next couple days. Cross avoiding Epic and not seeing him or speaking to him during those days, and Epic doesn’t know where Cross is or what he’s thinking, and the uncertainty kills him. Both just want the other to be okay, but both aren’t used to fighting like this and don’t know how to apologize because of the guilt and shame.

Epic can sob loudly, sometimes. It’s very rare that it happens. Most of the time when he cries, he’s silent. He looks exhausted, and his face glistens with his tears. When he’s sad, it’s hard for Epic to have any appetite. He’d have to be forced to eat by someone else. He would’ve let himself starve otherwise, thinking this misery is what he deserves for being unable to help anyone.

Cross would not be sleeping well. He misses Epic. He feels horrible. He’s worried about him. He and Epic would eventually reunite, and any bitter resentment Cross had felt before had all but vanished, replaced by disappointment and irritation with himself for doing this to his best friend. Epic too is so relieved to see Cross and that he’s okay, but the awful guilt still sits inside him when he sees Cross’s tear-stained, exhausted face and heavy bags under his sockets.

Cross cries when he’s angry, when he’s sad; whenever he feels intense emotions. It’s easy for him to tear up, and Epic is an emotional crier. So when they both apologize and hug and Cross cries that he’s sorry and he missed Epic, Epic would also sob out his own apologies.

After several days of avoidance and self-imposed recrimination, they’d both be affection sponges. They’d have a slow day and remain in constant contact with one another. Cuddling side by side or entwined in each other’s arms and sharing soft head bonks of nuzzles, curled up on either the couch, bed, or hammock. They’d order takeout because both are too emotionally drained to cook and socially wiped, wanting to only be around each other to soothe the pained ache in their Souls.

Maybe they’ll watch a movie, or play a cozy game. Something that’s low stimulation, so they can rest and stay safe and cozy wrapped up in each others’ arms. If they both aren’t yet living together, then they’d sleep (literally, not a reference to after dark activities) together in whatever spot they’d chosen (if it was the bed, couch, hammock, etc).

They’d both need that constant affirmation that they still deeply care for the other, that they’re okay, they’re still best friends, they would never leave the other, they’re sorry for fighting, etc, and they love the other so much. Cross would fall asleep first, exhausted after sleep depriving (which for him is unusual bc he doesn’t have Epic’s sleep troubles) and Epic watches him, staying awake for as long as he can to softly wipe away Cross’s tears, or soothingly hum while stroking his back when Cross shifts or cries in his sleep. He’s dreading falling asleep, knowing all that’s waiting for him aren’t dreams, only nightmares promising death, but holding his dearest friend in his arms, feeling his Soul beat beside his, makes it worth it. He closes his eyes and lets sleep claim him while he holds his entire world in his arms.

This is all if they both had an intense, huge fight. If it were something serious that had one or both upset at the other but didn’t have a long fight — like for one of my WIPs (sobs in infinite WIP hell), it would be them taking some time to calm down and reflect, and once calmed, later meet up to reconcile. Epic gets mad-mad at Cross when he makes Epic’s [SURPRISE FOR LATER] cry and hurt their feelings. Cross is so surprised to see Epic upset at him like that, he just stares wide-eyed in confusion like “what just happened…?”, especially after Epic tells Cross that he loves Cross, but Cross isn’t the only person Epic loves dearly. Cross can’t just callously hurt the ones Epic cares about.

And Cross would think about it and later apologize to Epic. He doesn’t quite see why what he did was wrong, but will work on himself to not do that again.

Now if Epic did something to make Cross upset, like, say, pulling away from his friends during a severe depressive episode, or Epic thinking about attempting again, Cross would fight with him because he’s hurt and worried about Epic. He’d be upset that Epic didn’t go to him for help and feels like Epic didn’t trust him enough, when really Epic didn’t want to drag Cross or anyone else down when he’s this upset. Cross would argue with him that this is what are friends are for. Cross wants to be there for Epic just like he always is for him. Epic can’t love everyone and not love himself.

Or it could even be something with jealousy. Epic would internalize everything negative he feels so if he were jealous, he’d never say anything or bring it up. Cross would silently seethe for a while if he were jealous, or be passive-aggressive to the person that made him jealous, and he and Epic would argue about it because Epic would eventually if not immediately notice. Cross would lash out because Epic’s go to of deflecting or trying to let things go makes Cross feel like Epic isn’t taking him seriously. This would be maybe an hour or so later where they’d talk it out and apologize. Epic for making Cross feel like he didn’t care about Cross’s feelings, and Cross for getting angry at Epic.

All in all? It’d hurt to see them both fight and hurt in the aftermath, but these two bestie love each other too much to let one fight drive them apart.
