I rewatched the ending sequence of ToTK and got very, very emotional. I wish Nintendo had given us a bit more Zelink action (was a hug too much to ask??) so here I am with some fanart and a drabble because THEY BOTH DESERVED A NICE WARM HUG AT THE END

She was home.

Link's arms tightened around her waist, part of him in disbelief at the warmth of the princess who had clung to him, crying. Their journey -- one that defied space and time-- was over.

He listened to her shaking breaths, his shoulder wet from both her tears and the pool of water that had cushioned their fall. He felt her heart beat, frantic, rapid, in sync with his. He could tell she was scared, nervous, as if he would vanish into the dawn air as soon as she let go.

So Zelda held on tight and Link, almost impossibly, held on tighter.

They could stay like this forever, Link thought. Of course they could.
