special delivery for â @zuripeterson¡
Even though she was here tonight Alex could still feel her stomach turning from the float earlier in the day. She wasnât sure if it was from the stop and go motions or the fact she wasnât buckled in, but she was still feeling slightly queasy. Knowing that she couldnât do this any longer as much as she wanted to and this was something that was an honor, she wanted to do right by the town. Taking the shiny tiara off of her head, she held it gently in her hands as she walked around the ball and tired to locate Zuri.Â
Finding the woman outside and Alex walked up to her before giving a curtsy playfully. âHey, Runner Up.â She greeted with a smile on her face still before lifting up the tiara in her hands. âWhat do you say about tossing that Runnerâs Up crown down for the night and taking this for a spin? You know since I canât keep doing the parade.âÂ
So this is not where she saw her night ending. Staring down at the crown the other held out to her made her feel suddenly nervous. Growing up in Maywood, Zuri knew the kind of prestige winning such an award carried and what was expected of her when she wore it. But what was she going to do? Say no to someone who clearly looked like they needed a break? Besides, it shouldnât be too bad, Ford would be the one at her side in the end. Which, surprisingly, actually made her worry for other reason. Lifting the crown from Alexâs hands she gave her a small smile. âI canât exactly say no to the queen crowned --- well, once crowned? I guess?â She laughed lightly as she looked down to it. âI will say youâve given me pretty big shoes to fill. I donât think i will ever be able to look quite as posed as you did up there, honestly how did you do it? And do you have any pointers for me?â
