The words spoken lightly into his ear, graced by a rather elegant and almost angelic female voice had never been expected to cause such internal distress upon the golden-haired German’s mentality. His guts slowly began to churn with the progression of the one-sided conversation, and though he remained without restless fidgeting within his chair, Zorin felt his blood begin to curdle. "I see," was his response to it all, though dozens of unanswerable inquiries struggled upon his lips -- perhaps never to be spoken. There was a pause. With fingers that had begun to lightly fidget uneasily, Zorin sighed audibly into the phone and clenched his jaw before once more speaking to the trembling voice over the line, "Annaliese, I believe..?" Max began into the telephone, "I have heard much about you through the lips of our mutual acquaintance, and you should be pleased to know that not a syllable was negative. I would be happy to have you for as long as you may require, and you shall be welcomed to my home as an honored guest." he continued, pursing his lips and clenching a fist."It disheartens me that we must first acquaint ourselves under such.. seemingly grave circumstances. Please rest assured that by the time you arrive, there will be an apartment readied for you at my chateau. You are welcomed here as a close acquaintance, of not only Silva, but myself. You may arrive at your leisure. Whatever guidance it is that you seek, I will do my best to provide it."

The letter that was left lying beautifully upon the empty, clean desk was very slowly replied to weeks later; and though it contained Zorin’s stamp, flawless upon the outside of it’s elegant envelope, once inside the letter’s scent was unfamiliar. It bore handwriting rather of a well-mannered butler than of the platinum-haired mastermind himself. It was written not in first person, but in third — and it did not contain casual, affectionate titles, but rather it read in French. An unfavorable event has left Mister Zorin accused of an illegal act, and after being fairly tried in the Court Of Cassation and sentenced to sixteen months in the Maison d’arret de Bois d’Arcy prison.
