âHey, come on, no crying.â He said as he sat up straighter, holding his hand out in front of him. He hated seeing her cry, when right before the accident she had been back to the happy Zoe he knew and loved. âListen, I know itâs going to suck. I understand that. ButâŚI could be dead. This isnâtâŚideal, this isnât what I wanted, but I have a second chance. Not everyone gets that, not everyone gets a new lease on life, as cliche as that is.â He could only think of his sister, and the fact that she hadnât gotten the opportunity for a second chance, to live a different life. âDonât worry, okay?â
When he said not to cry, it was like her body instantly decided to do the opposite, and tears started flowing down her cheeks despite shaking her head. She knew he was right, she knew it was better than him being dead, but that didnât make it any easier for her. Sniffling slightly she walked towards him, sitting down on the edge of the bed next to him. âIâll always worry about you Matty.. you know that..â she whispered, her head hanging as she looked down at her hands.Â
