FEATURING DAHLIA WRIGHT
dahlia was shaking her head in amusement, her nose crinkled,â how i was that wasnât true.â she knew that she worked quite often. especially for someone her age but she liked the idea of having enough money to live. it had been years of not having anything stable but now she did and she wasnât going to ruin it. even if that meant spending far too much time at her place of work. she was surprised that zoe had agreed with her and she grinned at how she was correcting herself,â uh huh.â she was going to take a breath as she took another sip of her coffee. only to shrug as she set her mug down. only to grab one of the few others that was behind the bar. she was setting it down and going to pick up the pot. a sigh came from her as she went to pour another cup,â iâm fine,â she said after a moment,â i mean sleeping isnât easy but i think i need a social life but i literally hate the idea of one at the same time.â she was going to slide the mug over to zoe before handing over the creamer and sugar,â what about you? things at the salon okay?â she knew that curly bops was the only salon in charming that was worth going to.Â
âRight? Coming to La Luna is so much fun, but itâs like as soon as you work here and the fun gets sucked right out.â The woman giggled. With the amount of hours that Dahlia spent behind the bar, Zoe instinctively knew she wasnât taking good enough care of herself, and she wanted nothing more than to change that. As the younger begun to describe what was going on, a wicked smile appeared on Zoeâs lips, âHow about a day at the salon? Can I pretty please do your hair? Câmooooon. Itâll be so much fun. And you can invite some people with you. Weâll make a day of it.â The subsequent pout that appeared on Zoeâs face was strategic in order to try and convince Dahlia to say yes. âI bet that after a full treatment at Curly Bops youâll be feeling fresh, and ready to take on the world. Even having a social life.â Zoe widened her eyes in a doe-eyed expression as she grabbed the cup and poured an unhealthy amount of sugar in it. When Dahlia flipped the question towards Zoe herself, she shrugged, âThe salon is doing great. The Valentineâs day party brought in a lot of customers. So that was a busy few days. As for Zoe, the person and not the hairdresser slash business owner, Iâm boring as always.â She laughed a self deprecating laugh, and shrugged her shoulders. Sure, Zoe had friends and acquaintances all over town, but at times she felt... Lonely.
