i wanted to draw shiroba in this style after how i drew maya —slow damage— earlier because i thought it'd fit him. i really like shiroba.. this drawing came out looking sort of cheap unfortunately

i finished slow damage a little over a month ago and i'd really like to speak about maya

i think maya is a wonderful character. in truth she did want what was best for towa and loved him despite not knowing much of love at all. she taught him how to manipulate others and live her way because that was the only way she knew how to live.

this is of course not to say she is a good person, i'm very aware she isn't but i don't think she understood morals which i can relate to. she's a tragic character who hurt towa deeply but even so she's still human.

the scene where fujieda and towa read maya's diary was incredibly special. seeing fujieda be there for towa while he reads her diary where she speaks of being alone is an impactful comparison. just to have fujieda there changes everything. it proves towa healed, he didn't become like his mother after all despite the many shocking mirrorings.

i've been somewhat against fujieda because i thought he ruined towa and that towa's traumas made him better. i liked how madarame accepted towa for his worst and encouraged it, that felt freeing. i'm starting to accept fujieda now though, he made towa happy — even if towa lost those traits i cherished because because i related to those the most.
