“You know.. I can’t help but think that everyday I just-“
Reginald taps his finger against the table.
“We been together for so long and you were always there for me you know..? I can’t imagine how crazy it is to know how long I’ve known you for.”
Reginald said, looking up across the table.
“*sigh* you know what.. how about I just get straight to the point here.”
He said with confidence surrounding all around him. He looked nervous but he was ready to take in and do his all.
“I.. always wondered how.. love felt and that’s when I ment you.”
He said calmly. He fidgeted with his hands as he continued.
“I never thought I’d fall in love with someone like you. Everyday your always by my side and I can’t help be feel so alive. Do you.. wanna like grab a drink sometime or just.. be in my life for all eternity?”
Reginald glanced and he smiled awkwardly. He waited patiently for a response from his end.
“Holy fucking shit, that was the worst or possibly even the cringiest thing you made me sit through.”
Sven said, sitting at the other end of the table as he swirled around a spoon in his coffee.
“I-I.. YOU wanted to help practice!”
Sven laughs over how quickly Reg was to be very defensive about his personal love life. Besides their table in the open, Burt chuckles to himself at everything.
“Oh shush you. YOU also wanted to help out too. And in fact the worst way possible!”
Reginald yells out to Burt.
“Yeah I know, I just didn’t think you’d embarrassed yourself like that.”
Burt then sits down on the other end with Sven as they both continue to snicker. Reginald looks down at his cup of coffee and sighs.
“You know we’re actually willing to help you out.”
“I know that part.. I just didn’t think this whole me crushing on my whole right hand man would be out in the open.”
Reginald said still looking down. Sven and Burt looked at each other before looking back at their chief.
“You kinda made it obvious you liked him, and honestly I kinda expected it.”
Burt says as he takes a sip of his coffee.
“I didn’t think I would make something so stupid that obvious around here.”
Reginald pressed his hands against the coffee mug tightly. He seemed ashamed or embarrassed to have feelings like this. Sven and Burt stared at him in silence. It wasn’t long until someone could speak up.
“You know what. You don’t really need our advice honestly.”
“What!? Then the hell was the point of all this?”
“Come on man. He clearly isn’t good at this whole thing anyway. No offense.”
Reginald glared at Burt but then let out a sigh.
“Non taken. You’re kinda right honestly and I’m pretty helpless in this whole romance thing.”
“How about this, instead of trying so hard you should just embrace it whenever you’re ready.”
Sven says in an attempt to cheer up the his chief. Reginald looked up at him as he watched the both of them finish up and getting ready to head out.
“Just not too soon of course, only do it when you think it’s the time.”
“Thanks for the coffee by the way.”
He said as he gets up and leaves along with Sven behind. Reginald sat alone for a minute staring at his reflection from his own cup. He process the words and advice he was given before eventually swallowing his coffee whole and leaving the kitchen back to his place.
As he makes it back to the cockpit of the airship, he notices his Right Hand Man, steering the ship, waiting for Reginald to comeback. He couldn’t help but keep his eye on him as we began to wonder whether if he should feel
ashamed developing feelings for such a great friend like him.
Thinking about romance and the desires of him make him feel nauseous but yet it feels like something he truly wants.
Reginald was so lost in thought he totally forgot about why he came to the cockpit in the first place. He awkwardly walks over to his Right Hand Man as he casually takes back his place.
“Say, how was your break? I didn’t know you needed one without me since we usually go on coffee breaks together.”
RHM nudges Reg as he looks down at him.
“It’s was… fine. Honestly it wasn’t fun with you but I did need some time for myself.”
Reginald says, nervously. He glances quickly at his Right Hand Man, who was leaning against his seat before he could get any more flustered and then looking away.
“At least you had some time for yourself, Reg. While walking my way here lost my favorite ring.”
Reginald turn over and looked back up at his Right Hand Man.
“Really? Like did you drop it somewhere in here or on the airship or..”
“No, I dropped it in the sink drain. I was very pissed since that was one of my lucky jewelry you gave me during one of our heists.”
Reginald stared at his Right Hand Man, he didn’t pay much more attention to rant about his day but couldn’t help but smiled to himself. Hearing those words, he didn’t think an old ring he’d let his Right Hand Man have would be cherished so much.
He continued to think to himself that this is a perfect opportunity to gift him a more recent piece for him to cherish and confess his love. Since he was so busy thinking about his own plans he didn’t seem to realize that his Right Hand Man was trying to get his attention.
The Right Hand Man says in a louder tone.
“W-what. Oh um.. sorry.. I was just uhh lost I thought..”
Reginald’s face grew red as he looked down nervously.
“No worries mate. It was a nice gift you gave me and sorry that I lost it if that’s what you’re upset about.”
RHM says as he pats Reg’s back for comfort.
“Oh.. I’m fine don’t worry. I’m not upset or anything like that.”
Reginald shrugs it off as he continues to smile up at his Right Hand Man.
“Say, how about you go take a break? It would probably be great for you since your day has been sorta a wreck.”
His Right Hand Man’s face switched up with glee. Reginald smiles warmly as he pats his shoulder with insurance on his suggestion.
“Uh yeah! Gladly! Thanks Reg I owe you one.”
RHM said as he nudges him as he winked.
Right Hand Man then proceeded to walk out of the Cockpit before Reginald quickly ran out of seat and getting someone else to look over the steering wheel. He ran out of the Cockpit excitedly while also grabbing some clothing as for disguise. He then runs to the nearest transport pod and left the airship or a gift.

I had the first or concept of the whole idea in my notes this whole time lolol, I was heavily debating whether or not to show it since it’s very short and uhh kinda cringy(well to me xD) but yet again it’s just the opening XD I think I was just more shy and scared to show my writing since I have dyslexia and i sometimes do deep dives into character personalities to be sure it sounds right, well to me at least but at the end of the day i remember “hey! It’s an au!! mischaracterization usually always happen.” But also too I just want it as accurate as possible… so lmk what we think so far! I’ll post the other parts from my notes later on if everyone enjoyed this one🦄🤍
