No, I actually love it for that. I only hate Supergirl because...

It feels so slow and boring due to the lack of energy, where I was already checking my phone thirty minutes in.

It has color grading that's on par with your standard MCU schlock and BARELY looking better than a Snyder film.

The lighting was so dark that I could barely tell what was happening most of the time. Like, the first fight scene in the movie is at night and I can barely tell what the fuck was happening.

It has the most laughably bad needle drop for a climax I've ever seen. Seriously, I want to see that list of songs they had before choosing THIS one as the best one.

It has one of the most irritating little child characters I've seen. I get it, she's traumatized and thirsty for revenge, but holy shit, even my sister found her annoying and the ways she constantly threw herself into danger irritating. She thinks she can do ANYTHING but can't really do shit unless Supergirl or Lobo's there to do the things she can't. She's a textbook example of a dumbass in distress, and I couldn't stand a MINUTE of it.

Oh, and Supergirl's motivation for killing these child-sex-slave traffickers? It's so she can get a cure for her dog. Not because they're trafficking children, that's just a bonus and justification for her not to pull her punches with them. Honestly, if Kreel didn't shoot Krypto with that poison dart, she might have just let them be. As if we NEED a justification to kill these child-sex-slave traffickers.

Oh, and despite being a movie about Supergirl, it's more about Ruthye than anything else. I already don't care about Ruthye, and I went to see SUPERGIRL. Show me SUPERGIRL without this annoying and incompetent teenager getting in the way.

We need to stop acting like the reason people hate movies like Supergirl goes beyond some surface level bullshit. I loved seeing Supergirl kick ass and I am absolutely okay with seeing her kill the child-sex-slave trafficker. Some people say it goes against the message of the comic it's based on, but I also don't give a single shit because if they let the child-sex-slave trafficker LIVE for this "You shouldn't be as bad as him" bullshit message, the movie would have went from a four out of ten to a TWO. And that's a GENEROUS two!

Sometimes, despite having good intentions, a bad movie is just a bad movie. Seeing Supergirl beat the shit out of pedophiles is GREAT, but it doesn't erase the problems listed above. If you don't have these problems with the film, good for you. But you need to stop acting like that there's no other reason why people hate this movie other than they're misogynists who support pedophiles.

The second reason was distain for the Irish, and the thought that they were “breeding too much” and the famine was a natural way to trim down the population, aka genocidal reasoning.

This is why it’s important to stress it was not a potato famine. The potato blinght was all over Europe but only in Ireland there was a famine. The reasons behind it had nothing to do with potatos and everything to do with the Brittish.

Apparently what made Choctaw want to offer relief to Irish was the news about the Doolough Tragedy. Hundreds of starving people were gathered for inspection to verify they were entitled to recieve relief. The officials would for *some reason* not do that and instead left to a hunting lodge 19 kilometers away to spend the night and said to the starvqing people they would have to walk there by morning to be inspected. The weather conditions were terrible and many of them died completely needlessly during the walk thoroung day and night.
