Dromedaverse Mlp AU: Updated v.2.1
I have spent some time rewriting a lot of lore for Dromedaverse. Some things are no longer canon.
Main points: Discord and Andromeda: He never actually considered children thinking himself as parent material or even a suitable father. not eveb the faintest idea what hes doing, how to be a parent. He developed massive doubts about being a father.
He had hid the fact he created and was pregnant with his own means for 7 months from everyone. Well almost everyone, Fluttershy was the only friend that knew he had done it.
Discords living the single father life with his daughter. He is extremely protective over her especially with the fact shes the only child he'll ever have in his enternal life and Starswirl attempted infanticde.
Discord being the only male Draconequus alive couldnt produced his one and only child, Andromeda by normal means being incompatible with other species besides his own he decided through sheer will power and raw magic to create the embryonic blueprint for his daughter, consume said embryo and override his own biology to at least contain and carry a child of his own. Simply speaking only the womb manifested inside him containing his child. He was still a male similar to a seahorse.
He didnt really take the pregnancy serious until the physical signs started showing between 6 to 7 months months in when he was forced too.
Discord has commitment issues, more specifically around romance due to a certain ex-girlfriend of his who caused nasty trauma from abuse, using him, controlling him taking advantage of his powers. All of which translated into why it was so hard to maintain later friendships during his redemption arc. As a result he wants nothing to do with romance in the slightest.
Without the hardware to birth a child naturally and he doesnt follow the laws of nature Discord essentianlly went - Instructions unclear vomit/regurgitates baby. It was not on his bingo card of how she'd come out. It was extremely stressful and exhausting process, he has sworn off from having any others. It was a feat in that of itself and nearly impossible to procure. He's content with his only child.
His pregnancy lasted 1 year and 7 months. Draconequus are such an ancient god like creatures that didnt care much in the reproduction side of things and evolved to have rather long pregnancies. Females of the species are pregnant for 1 year and 4 months. Discord being a male cant physically carry a child by normal means and took his body longer to grow and sustain life inside him. Hence forth his long gestation.
His cravings were the most out of pocket things ever much like standard cravings. Like a cosmic brownie made of the cosmos and certain meat related things.
Andromeda was born with Unilateral vocal cord paralysis from birth trauma of being stuck in her father's throat, the tight squeeze and compression coupled with her head bent in an awkward fashion and Discord actively choking to death cause irrepariable damage to her vocal cords.
Starswirl has made his distaste toward Discord and Andromeda is so garingly obvious, it's no secret of seeing her as an abomination that shouldn't exist. He finds Discord extremely ill-equipped, unfit, unorthodox, and far too irresponsible to raise a child. He views this child as a potental threat to all of equestria may be even more dangerous than Discord himself.
Twilight when she heard Discord had magically conceived a baby she is extremely curious and especially keen on studying him this baby of his and his species as a whole. This is the first ever draconequus to be born in eons.
She had been reading up on typical pony pregnancy metrics and is comparing it to his blabbing on and on to him about it so caught up in the facts and statistics that she frequently ambushes him with questions, research notes, examinations.
Discord entertained her nerdy research begrudgingly he knows if he denies her she'd just pester him about it anyway.
Seasons 8 and 9 do not exist. The MLP flim StormKing invasion happens within the au however I haven't decided when in lore it happens there are two ideas with various potential that I'm playing with.
