Pattern (writing as I’m creating):
I made some Ao3 icons as pixel grid patterns. I used them to crochet, but they can also be used for other crafts. Feel free to use these!

Turkish cast on
This is an alternative to Judy’s magic cast on and is in fact really, really simple!
I’ve been hesitating to use it, but thought I’d try it out on this mini project.
You can use it for sock toes on toe-up socks, or as a provisional cast on as shown in this video.
Have you ever used the Turkish cast on in your knitting projects?
Long-tail cast-on and basics My go-to cast-on method is the long-tail cast-on. I prefer to start without a slipknot. Do not make the stitche

With the same pattern for the basic jumper from jessica-tromp.nl and this pattern from Rasuberri on chart minder (originally found on pinterest) I made a second jumper for my toddler. Practice does help. This went smoother than the first one. I'm also working on a knitted jumper dress for myself but that's such a big project because once again I didn't make a proper sample but adapting while knitting is at least kind of possible. I

The Asymmetrical Stripes sweater (aka NaKniSweMo 2025 project)
The two first pics are of me trying on the blocked sweater (as you can see the sleeves are Enveloping my hands). The last two are pics of it laid down on my bed after having been worn for a couple hours outside.
Blocking the sweater made it flowier (yes), but also expanded it horizontally which made it into more of a drop shoulder sweater (which ultimately expanded the sleeve length). I actually don’t mind the oversized fit of the torso, but yeah the sleeves are a bit much.
In regards to if this project satisfies the NaKniSweMo challenge (that it must be 50k stitches):
No, I only managed to do 31k max amount of stitches (because i used a bigger yarn than usual). But idc cuz i got a FO at the end of it, this thing did not exist at the end of Oct but it’s here now.
Some project notes:
my try on of my (unweaved, unblocked) NaKniSweMo 2025 sweater, that i will hencefort call the Asymmetrical Stripes Sweater.
not as scratchy or as see through as i’d been dreading. and i do like how the stripes look eventhough i fucked up the rows a few times.
