A Trickle To A Roar

"Mmm...the birds looks kinda freaky. Maybe I can be convinced that's part of it's charm. Because the scenery is wonderful." Paulette said. "Then again this is Claudette's head I need to get into here. She loves weird shit as much as cute things."

"Does she like creepy weird things? Or it's it just a strange weird? I would go for a doll with glass eyes if you awant scary weird over this. Strange weird you have to get this one." Zarina didn't even know the other girl. She didn't have the right to make a sure decision. But that had never stopped her before.

Isabela didn't have a mind for business (even if, technically, she had been in school for a business degree and only a semester from graduating when she dropped out.)

"It depends on how much of it in solid form is needed to make something in liquid? Can we make it so concentrated we don't need too much space that is sitting idle? But also how long would it take, What if the entire space of my shop was needed for 30 days to make one product that's a lot of time and if it only makes a few items it's not really worth it." Zarina took a breath as finished her thought process, nodding to herself as if it made complete sense.

This was one of the best parts of getting to talk with Zarina. It was like talking with Hiro as well - people whose brains moved so fast and creatively in ways that were entirely different from their own. Food was an area Luca had almost no skill in. This way they got to be part of it for a little while.

"Did you know there are food places that are famous for having food challenges? I think it's usually eating contests so it's a lot of food but I don't see why it couldn't be a challenge. I could make a shirt, People love shirts." In Zarina experience so many people would do something for a free shirt. Even if it wasn't a good shirt.

“Hmm!” Maggie’s eyes lit up. “I liked that one we had the other day — with the cream on the inside? And the chocolate on the outside? An E-Clare!”

"I do! Not too often. I find more people like them as special treats. Have you made them before? The fun is within the cream and coating it with chocolate!" Zarina mimed each of the actions, as if she was making it right infront of the girl.

"Who coined that phrase some billionaire who inherited his business from his father?" Gary said, scrunching up his nose. "I suppose if you've ran the place this long. Your ideas are usually good. I'm not conceding this avocado chocolate one yet though."

"Then I'll just have to make you eat it and then you'll eat your words as well." Zarina almost let out a huff but pouted instead. This might have been Bobby's husband but she would always believe in herself.

Ok, maybe he was not that clueless, then. He could definitely tell when something smelled nice. He just could not necessarily name what it was. "Oh good. Well it smells nice for sure. Sorry, I wasn't sure if jus' sayin' that was goin' t' cut it. I mean, I coulda said it definitely smells better'n th' smells I get every day at my job, which're mainly horses an' hay. I'd be kinda worried if there was a perfume that smelled like that!"

Zarina turned her shoulders slightly toward the man as her head tilted with a bright smile. "See now that wasn't all that hard and I've gotten an ego boost from your nicenss." Zarina laughed as she tossed her hair back.

"Of course I do! I know better than to run out of those," Cass said with a laugh and a wink. "Give me two minutes and they'll be fresh. You can use at least that much time to tell me how everything's going. That last pastry you made was amazing."

Zarina was sure her stomache rumbled at the sound of the rolls hitting the fryer, it was all in her head but she could smell them already. Taste them.

In practicality, it may have been better for Mena to walk into a business with a Help Wanted sign on the storefront, rather than walk in places and chat with owners. That's probably what would have been the best chance of her getting a job. The fault lay in the fact that she, apparently, had no transferrable or recorded skills.

Zarina smiled at the customer though her lanuage and phrasing had her pausing and tilting her head.

“You do!” said Maggie. “And also something else…”

"Cinnamon rolls with all the icing glazed over." Zarina sighed as she thought about it, maybe she needed to make a new batch tonight. It would proof just in time for a late night snack.

"I do! I mean, sometimes it can be very strong, and natural lavender is a lot better than when people make artificial lavender. But I think it smells nice." It was part of why they liked those lavender sachets more than most perfumes.

Zarina's face perked up at another floral sent quickly leaning over to do the same thing and nodded. "I think so, I think I might just need to add some florals to the menu and look into edibles. Oh! And I could not tell people and then they could have a blind smell and taste test just like what we're doing!" Zarina nearly bounced in excitment at the thought of it.

"It's right here!" Zarina lead the other girl toward it, it wasn't Zarina's style but the painting on it was beautiful. It showed skill, it showed craftsmanship.

"Yes!" It wasn't horrific and Zarina wouldn't let Gary make her feel bad about it. She wanted to experiement and no one could make her feel bad about it.

It was a slow moment, so Cass was looking after the Lucky Cat on her own while Vee was on their break. She didn't mind. In some ways, this reminded her of the early days of her first place when everything rose and fell on her. But a little less tense. These days, if she failed she was the only one sinking with it.

Zarina missed working with Cass, she was proud of the other woman for opening her own shop, to be successful. But she missed her.

Isabela couldn't help but wrinkle her nose a little at the mention of animal fat. Of course, she wasn't a vegetarian or anything...but using it in products? Just sounded kind of gross to her.

"No I guess not? It would still be a lot of work but at least you wouldn't have to worry about running out of something, and then it would be at prime freshness you would get the best smelling perfume." Already Zarina was thinking about how it could work. Did she have someone who could do that for her and she could test it out.
