Honestly, having a good revision process is such a game-changer. Before this class, I kinda rushed through stuff and hoped for the best. Now I actually take time to read things like I’m the person on the other side of the screen. It’s not just fixing typos it’s making sure what I’m saying makes sense, sounds like me, and actually connects with people. I know this is gonna help me way past this class, whether it’s for content creation, job stuff, or just writing online. Good revision = better content, better messages, and way less “ugh, why’d I post that?”

I'm narrowing my account choices by focusing on creators who consistently post engaging content related to sports media and digital strategy. First, I looked at accounts I already follow and interact with to ensure I stay interested throughout the project. Then, I considered how frequently they post and whether their content aligns with my research question. I also made sure to pick a mix of different styles—some accounts focus on analysis, others on highlights, and some on memes—to see how different content strategies play out. This balance keeps the research interesting while giving me a variety of data points.

One data piece I recorded that I’m excited to analyze is the impact of posting time on engagement. I tracked how many likes, comments, and shares my posts got depending on what time I posted, and there’s a clear trend—posts between 6–9 PM consistently perform better than ones earlier in the day.

I’m looking forward to breaking this down even more to see if certain types of content (graphics, polls, or text-only posts) perform differently at different times. This could help me fine-tune my posting strategy and get even better engagement.

Data-driven writing is going to be huge for me after college, especially with sports media and social media management. Being able to look at engagement data and see what actually works will help me create better content instead of just guessing. Whether it’s figuring out the best time to post or which type of content gets the most interaction, using data will make my writing more effective.

Even outside of social media, data-driven decision-making is important in almost any career. Whether it’s analyzing sales trends in insurance or using stats to improve coaching strategies, being able to back up ideas with real numbers will be a big advantage.

For longer projects, I break them into smaller tasks and set mini-deadlines so I don’t get overwhelmed. Instead of stressing about the whole thing at once, I focus on one step at a time—brainstorming, outlining, drafting, then revising.

I also use timed work sessions (like 30-45 minutes) so I don’t burn out, and I try to start early so I’m not rushing at the last minute. Having a rough draft done ahead of time helps me step away and come back with fresh eyes.

I also take breaks between writing and editing so I can come back with fresh eyes. This helps me avoid burnout and makes revisions easier. Keeping a checklist of tasks also helps me stay organized and motivated.

I’m collecting data by analyzing my Tumblr posts, looking at engagement, themes, and writing structure. I’m also reflecting on what makes certain posts more effective than others. This helps me understand how I can improve my web writing skills and make my content more engaging. Looking at patterns in my posts will show me what works best for my audience.
