“Another round, please.” The holidays were some of the busiest days of the year and, considering he was very far from home, he traded shifts and submitted a lot of overtime at the station covering for colleagues that did have kids and family that needed them around. He didn’t mind it, really, it kept him busy and it was good money in the end but now he just needed a break. “Make that two.” He added, tilting his head towards the person sitting next to him at the bar, letting the bartender know to put the order on his tab. “I guess that’s my way of saying Happy New Year! Cheers.”
