Nowadays, the major news outlets focus more on scandals involving celebrities and what not rather than on actual world problems.

In Irish media, there’s primarily controversies, recent crimes, sports and bans being implemented. There is almost NOTHING on actual problems (other than water shortages) such as the housing crisis which has been going on for FOURTEEN YEARS. YES, 14 YEARS!!

Now in my opinion, they should be helping the citizens of Ireland first rather than the refugees and no, I do not mean to slander the refugees or to come off as racist but the people who fell victim to the economic crash in Ireland should be helped first since they’ve been waiting and waiting.

First off, the AI is so dumb. It can’t understand what sarcasm or jokes are because it’s a robot. It’s not even effective either. Like sure, some people are absolute creeps but that doesn’t mean you can just invade everyone’s privacy. And the worst part? It broke the laws of a democracy.

A democracy is supposed to be based on the public’s votes. For these votes it got outvoted by the public which if that happens, the government is supposed to listen to the people but this time they decided “Fuck it, we’ll do it anyway”. And in fact, is the chat control ACTUALLY monitor things properly? I mean it certainly can’t understand jokes or sarcasm so if you say some out of pocket shit it’ll probably flag it and send the police to your door because you’re a “threat to the public”.

And how would they prevent it from data leaks? If there’s a cyber attack (which happens way more than they should in this modern day and age) how are they planning on preventing everyone’s chats in the EU on getting leaked? I mean, in my opinion it’s completely pointless. It’s a shitty idea.

And to top that all off, you have now ZERO privacy so anything and everything you say will be seen by the AI as I have stated and obviously the AI is controlled and monitored by the governments of every country so it’s basically this massive privacy breach.
