These photo I took a while ago. These children are my sister’s children, Malik, 1.8 years old, and Maryam, about 3 years old. Their father is in northern Gaza. He was forced to return to northern Gaza after he was displaced south because of his sick mother, who cannot move around due to problems with her leg’s knee. Maryam, Malek, and their mother in the south, we live in the same place. We went out to sit outdoors to escape the heat of the sun in the tent. It was like an electric oven, unbearable, neither summer nor winter. She always tells me that she wants children's toys and a package of colors and colored papers, and I buy them as much as I can so that I do not make them feel war and pain.

They are wonderful children and I love them as my own.❤️

These children should have lived a better life under all circumstances, but a genocidal war forced us to live the minimum of life. Perhaps we accepted the minimum, but far from death, destruction and killing.🙏

This beautiful child, Maryam, calls me father. She has not seen her father for 11 months, and she was an unconscious child. Today she has become more conscious, and she has seen me as the father and uncle.

My dear brothers and sisters, pray for us until this brutal war ends, the genocide ends, and families unite again under the shade of a tree in their home.
