“Captain.” Bonnie greets as Silllexa shuts the door behind them. “I’m here to check you over.”

“No arguing.” Silllexa counters immediately after she finishes. Damn, she knows her too well. Bones sighs, but doesn’t put up a fight and sits as Bonnie comes over to check her out. “We also need a recap of what happened down there.”

“I can tell you. It’s kind of my fault anyways.” Paige pipes up as Bonnie begins her examination of Bones. “When I ran away from my pod, I uh…kind of forgot to tell anyone. So they came looking for me, assuming I had been kidnapped. They knocked us into the ocean and tried to drown Bones as revenge.”

“They tried to drown you?!” Bonnie interrupts, her eyes widening in concern.

“Nearly. Paige saved me at the last minute.” Bones explains, shivering from Bonnie’s cold stethoscope against her bare skin. “But I’m fine.”

“Maybe for right now, but nearly drowning can cause long term health issues that don’t show immediately. I’m ordering you to bed rest for the next few days while I monitor your health.” Bones begins to protest but Bonnie shushes her. “No arguing! You’re lucky it’s only a few days.”

“The crew will be fine. I’ll make sure everything runs smoothly.” Silllexa pipes up, as if she had been reading her mind. “Besides, you almost died. Take a few days to recover.”

Paige mouths ‘See?’ over Silllexa’s shoulder, which Bones grimaces at. “I know you will. But-“

“Don't sit there like you've done nothing."

Juri barked a laugh. “Is that what you wanted to tell me?”

Marina groaned, raking their hand through their hair. Juriji's eyes flickered, but that infuriating smile ghosted across her cheeks.

Finally, Marina shut their eyes.

“We can't keep doing this. Not like this.”

Their ears pricked at the inhale Juriji tried to stifle.

Then a sigh.

“I understand, Marina.”

Marina's eyes snapped open, taking in Juri’s rosy cheeks and full lips and dark eyes, sparkling as she tucked a tendril of hair behind Marina's ear.

“Tell me to leave.”
