Ryou sat in front of the games for almost the entire time Yuugi was cooking, picking one up only to set it down in favour of looking at another. Heād chosen a good variety, which was helpful, but also unhelpful in the respect that it made it so hard for her toĀ choose.
Eventually, her stomach growling made her put the games in a pile, gently shuffling them and picking one at random. The one sheād picked happened to be a fighting game, but it looked like it had more to it than than most games in the genre, and luck hadnāt failed her before, so she set that one down before putting the rest away.
Moving through to the kitchen to join him, she smiled when she came in just in time to hear the kettle finish boiling, checking the cupboard above to find several kinds of teas. Grandpa had actually chosen a good variety, and she bit her lip before choosing a simple green tea, picking out a mug and setting up the tea to steep.
With a smile, she turned to Yuugi, leaning against the counter and tilting her head. āIs there anything I can help with?ā It looked like he was nearly done, but sheād ask anyway - at the very least, she could get some plates out.
"Mm You could get some plates out and maybe a serving bowl for the vegetables" Yuugi said as he put a burger onto a serving plate that he had gotten out so that he could put them there when he was done. Soon he had the last burger on the serving plate as he turned and put it on the table, putting the fried vegetables into the bowl as he said "There is rice in case you donāt want any buns"Ā
He then thought about it and murmured āThe reason there is alot of burgers is because I tend to eat alot of them. They are my favourite foodā before Yuugi asked āWhat is your favourite food, Ryou?ā curious as maybe he could learn to make whatever it happens to be.Ā
While he was waiting for an answer, he made himself up a plate, making sure to put some vegetables on his plate as he didnāt want to have his mom on his case about not eating his veggies. Plus it would give his grandfather more ammo and he tried to avoid that like the plague.Ā
Nodding, she managed to find the right cupboard and got out a couple of plates, setting the bowl down in time for Yuugi to scoop the vegetables into it. Ryou retrieved her mug of tea and some cutlery, carrying them over to the table with her before taking a seat.
Happily taking a burger, she placed it on her plate along with some fried vegetables, looking up at her companion when he started speaking. Smiling, she tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear, blushing slightly at the question. āCream puffs, actually. Iām not sure whether they even count as a food, but theyāre my favourite.ā
Picking up her fork, she started with the vegetables, not wanting them to go cold and chewy. Her gaze darted up to the male every once in a while, curiosity still burning away in the back of her mind. Especially because, though she wasnāt aware of the name for that particular niggle, he seemed so strangelyĀ familiar.
"I'll be sure to get in the habit of buying them then" Yuugi said with a determined look on his face before he got up and went over to get himself a drink. Eating at the dinner table for that night did make sense, at least, with the fact it might be hard to juggle plates on your lap as you played a game.Ā
He put his can of soda down, opening it up after he sat back down. He started to eat his burgers, happily eating them as he made sure to eat his vegetables in between so that he would remember to eat then and not just fill up on burgers.Ā
Yuugi had felt an air of familiarity with this girl but it made little to no sense to the boy. The only female fried he had had for the longest time had been Anzu and he was positive he would have remembered Ryou if they played as kids. His mind drifted to his online friend but he quickly scolded himself for that as he felt it was him hoping for some form of miracle.Ā
