Why am I outraged at the deaths of POC? Here’s why– I may have leaned towards my mothers skin tone but I’m still aware of who made me. I shouldn’t have to wake up and be worried that my uncles, cousins, brothers, and sisters are under attack simply for the amount of melanin their skin produces.

They shouldn’t have to worry about being gunned down because they’re wearing a hoodie while grabbing an AZ tea and some skittles.

They shouldn’t have to worry about dying because they where selling single cigarettes at the corner.

They shouldn’t have to worry about being hunted down like wild animals just because they took a jog around the block.

They DAMN SURE shouldn’t worry about pleading for their lives all because they where grocery shopping.
