Mr Anthony J. “I didn’t so much fall as sauntered vaguely downwards” Crowley. Mr Anthony Janthony “Look here, it's Lucifer and the guys” Crowley. Mr Anthony Jennifer “I wouldn’t worry though, how much trouble can I get into just for asking a few questions?” Crowley.

Seriously though, can we talk about how from the start Crowley had more hope for and faith in Heaven than Aziraphale ever did. The first time we see Aziraphale his naïveté has an air of touchy pragmatism to it already. While Crowley in fact had so much hope, he wouldn’t have imagined that questioning anything about Heaven could get him in trouble. Aziraphale knows. From the start Aziraphale knew and was doing a lot of heavy lifting to justify it to himself. But Crowley’s pure faith and hope made him admit it (almost), it always made him face the hypocrisy in heaven and subsequently himself…

When Crowley orders six shots of espresso, Aziraphale considerately asks for something that "calms people down". Nina then suggests him to get Eccles cakes.

Now the word, "Eccles" originally means "The church". It foreshadowed the season finale where Aziraphale asks Crowley to join heaven. It is a callback to Crowley being the (sauntered-vaguely-downwards) fallen angel. Crowley was given a choice to join heaven again. To eat the Eccles cake. But he doesn't. He doesn't want to be calmed down and hushed. He has found his voice, his own side. He knows the truth about Heaven and Hell and God.

The Eccles cake is also called the "squashed fly cake' because the inside is filled with black currants. This could be a metaphor for hell. How Crowley was also asked back to hell and he said no.

There is something extraordinarily intimate about touching someone while not even looking at them. It says:

- I know exactly where you are in reference to me, I don’t even have to look when reaching for you.

- I’m so confident in our relationship I know exactly how you’ll react when I touch you, I don’t have to look and gauge your reaction at all.

- I can interact with you while giving only part of my attention to you, I trust you completely.

So these two that he brings up, thinking they’re Crowley…

But when you take season 2 into account with the minisodes...I kind of only really just registered that this wonderous creature is in between them...
