“What could you possibly be spending money on now?”
Mammon didn’t have to turn around to know the voice belonged to none other than his dear older brother Lucifer. When he did, he was met with the exact image he pictured in his head—Lucifer with his arms crossed over his chest, brows scrunched, eyes narrowed, and a subtle yet deadly scowl. For once, his less than eager expression did not send Mammon into a state of fear. Instead, he rolled his eyes and went back to the shelf lined with little knickknacks.
“Which one do you think MC will like? I’m buying them a present.”
Lucifer shuffled closer to the display, curiosity gracing his features. “Oh? It’s not their birthday, is it? I would’ve remembered.”
“Of course you would,” Mammon mumbled under his breath. He ignored his brother’s fiery gaze burning into his neck. “Anyway, it doesn’t have to be a special occasion to give presents.”
“I suppose,” Lucifer sighed. “Surely you’re not serious about any of these, right?”
From the smug look on Lucifer’s face and Mammon’s silence, both brothers knew the former was in the right. The things, which neither of them could really begin to describe, would most likely be lost in MC’s room, or be placed under scrutiny by the rest of the demon brothers. To Mammon’s surprise, Lucifer tugged on the elbow of his jacket, leading him away from the store.
“Come on,” he urged. “Let’s find something more suitable before you make a fool of yourself again.”
“Aw, Lucifer, that was awfully nice- Wait, what do you mean again?”
