A madman once told me: Doth the questioning bird yet cease speaking? For the words its black mouth had uttered tormented my mind, ricocheting back and forth in a storm of foul emotions. An oppression so dark and heavy I could not bear a single moment alone for my mood would take me over completely. Retreating to my colleagues, they had offered no real help in resolving my current crisis. Retreating back to my chambers I gazed out past my veiled windows to regard its pale form; staring. This face slowly formed out of its breast: mouth agape, teeth baring wildly, a mess of whiskers covering this mysterious maw and finally dark black beads for eyes formed from what seems to be human nostrils. It spoke once and once only: “I need about treefiddy”

Fear the crack of the valley, the beckoning wind, the cheeks that rub. For their call is ever drawing, a smell so foul yet irresistible
