Study Tips from someone who hardly ever studies for tests
• Pay attention to class - I know this is the most obvious one, but it’s true: if you pay attention to your teacher you are way more likely to remember the subject.
• Ask yourself questions about the subject that you are actually interested in knowing the answer for - and then look for the answers. Google it, ask your teacher, friends… Just don’t settle until you have a concrete answer.
• Agree to explain the subject to a friend - just make sure to warn them that you may explain something wrong. When you explain something, you actually learn it. Even if you don’t really understand it, helping someone is usually a better motivation to study than getting questions right.
• Be a “good” student - you don’t need to get straight A’s to be a good student. Get to class on time, finish your projects on time, ask questions out loud (or talk to the teacher after class), do your homework and other small things.
• Read, read, read - anything: fiction, non fiction, the Bible, a play, your textbooks, a children’s book or even the cereal box.
