trevor takes very little time to get ready which is a skill necessary to have in order for him to stay in bed as long as he possibly can in the morning. he doesn’t care about looking good so doesn’t waste time styling his hair and most days he just shoves on whatever clean clothes he can find… or whatever clothes he deems clean enough. he takes his black coffee to go and typically skips breakfast because he’s overslept and late for work or class. record time he’s been up and out of the house (or cornley’s halls of residence) was 3 minutes and 43 seconds.

max also takes very little time (a skill he has developed because he always forgets to set his alarm). he doesn’t do much with his hair, which always looks effortlessly good in the mornings (bed head fears him), and doesn’t overthink what he’s going to wear. he has a quick and easy breakfast, like cereal, or takes some fruit to go if he’s really in a hurry not to be late. he’s typically ready to leave about 10 minutes after waking up.

annie likes to pick out her outfit for the next day the night before to save herself some time in the mornings. like max, she has a simple breakfast. cereal (i think she LOVES coco pops) and a glass of orange juice most days. cereal bars if she wants breakfast on the go. her hair is what takes her the longest (longer if she wants to do something that isn’t her typical plaits) as she likes to add cute clips or hair ties as accessories. i’d say she takes 15-20 minutes getting ready.

dennis and vanessa both get as much as they can ready the evening before. this, in theory, should save them time in the morning… in theory.

dennis spends a fair amount of time overthinking the outfit he chose the night before. does it make him look stupid? will other people think he looks stupid? then he wastes time picking out other outfits (usually just to settle on wearing what he originally had planned).

vanessa wastes her time double, then triple, checking she has everything she needs in her bag and that she isn’t forgetting anything (like her keys—which she has forgotten before and now can’t stop worrying she will do it again).

they both eat the same thing for breakfast every morning—dennis has toast every day and vanessa always has granola—which saves them time on deciding what to have. roughly 30 minutes all together.

robert, generally speaking, doesn’t actually take very long to get ready. yes, he likes to look good but he knows what he looks the best in, so it doesn’t take him long to pick out an outfit and he always styles his hair the same way. he has a simple breakfast, though it’s usually something hot like bacon and eggs, which takes a little longer to cook than some of his friends’ colder breakfast choices, but not by a lot. the only reason he’s so high on this list is because his first 15 minutes of the day are spent doing acting exercises in the mirror. about 40 minutes to get ready each morning.

chris has a very strict morning routine that takes precisely 1 hour. the first thing he does every morning is have a cup of coffee (because he’s DEFINITELY one of those people who thinks he can’t function until he’s had one) and his breakfast. whilst he eats, he likes to read the newspaper or a book. once he’s finished eating, he spends a long time ironing his clothes (that he picked out the night before) until there are no creases in sight, gets a shower, gets dressed and styles his hair so there isn’t a single strand out of place, brushes his teeth, makes sure he’s got everything he needs before he leaves, fixes his hair again and sets off for the day. he believes his appearance is a reflection of how well put together he is and tries very hard to make it seem like he looks just that.

sandra and jonathan are both very vain in their own right so naturally they were going to take the longest to get ready. i’d say their morning routines take a similar amount of time to get through.

jonathan’s day starts with a 40 minute gym session, unless he’s feeling like a change, in which he will go on a 40 minute run instead. the first 40 minutes of sandra’s day aren’t so different; she spends the first 10 minutes going over her daily affirmations (do you know those ones where you repeat back to yourself phrases like “i am beautiful.” “i am smart.” “today will be great.” that sort of thing). then she does 30 minutes of yoga.

after showering, they’ll both move on to breakfast and they both opt for healthier food choices. jonathan’s go to breakfast is avocado and tomatoes on toast with some sort of fruit juice or protein shake to drink, whilst sandra enjoys a yoghurt, fruit and oat concoction with an organic coffee. jonathan will listen to the radio whilst he eats; sandra will read a book (fiction, self-help, autobiography—she’s not picky).

the next hour is spent on their appearances alone. jonathan spends a lot of time picking out an outfit and styling his hair in a way that makes him look ‘effortlessly good’, and then even more time being indecisive on what aftershave he should wear. sandra, despite being pretty and knowing it, has not quite reached the ‘natural beauty’ acceptance stage, and believes beauty takes time and effort, meaning she cannot leave the house until she’s done her makeup and hair and picked out an outfit that she thinks exudes confidence and she doesn’t care how long it takes her as long as she looks perfect in the end.

the pair separately can take up to 2 hours to get ready every morning.
