so for a while ive had this like. idea. and i dont have the time or energy or space to go through with it rn, and wanna gather opinions first but basically.
i wanna try running a sorority. i wanna document every single aspect of it, every behavior and stress sign the girls go through to like visually show whats wrong and why its wrong.Â
like, daily updates on each individual girl, water parameters, coloration changes, specific behavior and interations i witness.
it would only be a temporary thing, like maybe 6 months in a sorority tank, then split up into their individual 20s for the remainder of their lives, and that would be documented for the next 6 months at least too, for any stress related illness, or changes again.
again, its not set in stone or something i am comfortable doing rn. i just wanna hear thoughts and opinions and if anyone would be interested in the results from this.Â
I’ve had the same thoughts for a long time. It would be better, I think, to have several people in on it: everyone has one sorority, we all follow the same guidelines for documenting. It’d make me super nervous, but I think it really needs to be done at some point if we want to make any observable progress against sororities. It’d have to be organized, though. Not just a bunch of people deciding to join later on. It would have to be organized right from the start.
I would love to do something similar, but comparing tank sizes and heat and the overall impact on betta health. Just run multiple tanks with multiple bettas, preferably from the same genetic pool, and document their lifespan, activity levels, etc. Running from like 1 gallon bowls to thirty gallon heated tanks, just to finally have a study that shows definitive evidence in favor of actually keeping them properly. Personally, I would want to film every minute of it too, so that other people could see it and see exactly what we've been saying.
